What is your opinion on the George & Tom's relationship? Do you feel that they were UNDERRATED as a comedic duo? Maybe they weren't Abbott & Costello, but Sherman Hemsley and Franklin Cover had a good chemistry together. IMO

I agree. Sadly, it didn't become apparent until the last few years of the series, but they were good together.

Agreed, that is why I feel they were so underrated.

I agree - and I think George and Mr. Bentley were a great comic duo as well. :D

They wasn't a comedy duo because Tom never said anything back to George until the 80's. And that was not often. A better duo would be George and Florence.

I think you're right they were pretty funny together. I think it's a shame that Franklin Cover never did much TV after The Jeffersons.
