Once upon a time, I started a thread called "Sylvia's Butt". For a while, a good number of people were responding to that thread for the sole purpose of making fun of me. However, that novelty wore off after a while. In any event, the main purpose of posting that thread was to express my fondness for older women. For a while, whenever something new happened regarding an older babe that I admired, I would write about it in the form of a response to that thread. My last such add-on was in regards to Susan Olson (Cindy Brady) turning forty-nine years old. For those of you who have not read it, this is the same age that Kari Michaelson (Katie Kinisky) is. In any event, it has probably been close to a year since anyone other than me has posted on that thread. For this reason, I feel that I am posting messages for their own sake! For this reason, I have decided to start a new thread in regards to something that I recently learned about another aging chick. Within the past couple of weeks, Shelly Long turned sixty-one years old. For those of you who do not know, she played Diane Chambers from "Cheers". Are any of you fans of this series. One thing that a lot of you youngsters probably do not know is that it was originally broadcast right after "Gimme a Break!"! They were on Thursday Nights at nine and nine-thirty respectively. At this stage in the game, "Gimme a Break!" had been on for a year and had a sizable audience. It was set up so that "Cheers" would be introduced right after a show that was already popular. However, that slot did not work well for "Gimme a Break!" so it was moved again. For the next four years it was shifted all over the board trying to defeat some very tough competition. In my opinion, its kiss of death was being put on Tuesday Nights opposite "Whose the Boss"! However, by this stage in the game, the network had gotten what they could out of it and it was time to say goodbye anyway.
