View Full Version : To Save Her Movie Career, Jen Aniston Will Go Topless for Next Role...
Brian Damage 08-27-2010, 10:27 AM Jennifer Aniston appears to be trading in her girl-next-door persona for a sexier model.
Though her rep has denied reports that Aniston will be doing a full-frontal nude scene in her next film, the former "Friends" star does appear to be embracing saucier scripts of late.
In Judd Apatow's upcoming "Wanderlust," she stars alongside Paul Rudd as one half of a happily married couple who decides to spend a brief sojourn living as hippies. According to HollywoodLife.com, that involves Aniston going topless, having a threesome with two women and smoking a joint or two.
This is Aniston's latest move towards sexier big screen roles. In June, her rep confirmed to People.com that she will embrace "aggressive sexuality" in her next film, "Horrible Bosses," co-starring Colin Farrell.
Amanda Sanders, a New York-based image consultant, says she thinks Aniston is making the right move in embracing her sexy side.
"She's always played those syrupy comedies and at this point she needs to do something dramatic," she told the Daily News, adding that her upcoming nudity will give her an edge.
Not to mention the fact that the 41-year-old star has a slammin' bod. This summer Aniston showed off her ripped abs in an ad for Smart Water and went topless to promote her new perfume, Lolavie.
Last year she famously appeared naked on the January issue of GQ in nothing but a tie.
"She's been working out for so long she might as well show it all off," Sanders said. "It can't hurt."
Aniston is definitely hurting after her latest movie, "The Switch," bombed at the box office this weekend, opening at the No. 8 spot with only $8.1 million.
In her last box office success, "The Break-Up" in 2006, Aniston bared her back side. She also filmed a topless scene which was later cut from the film but can be found in leaked photos on the internet.
"Wanderlust" and "Horrible Bosses" are slated for release next year.

robyrob 08-27-2010, 11:48 AM she could easily just use a body double, its not that big a deal anyways - but I don't think it would save her career so much as just picking better scripts to work with would.
i still remember her from when she starred on the sketch-comedy show "The Edge" in the early days of FOX - before she had her nose job!
catlover79 08-27-2010, 02:04 PM ^ Exactly!! Though, I do know quite a few people (read: men!) who would flock to see this flick.
Marvo301 08-27-2010, 04:34 PM This move reeks of desperation to me. If taking off her clothes doesn't get people to watch her movies what options does she have left?
MickeyMac 08-27-2010, 04:49 PM Also there is going to be nice big fat check for her to do a nude scene. Another reason why not to use a body double.

I have nothing against Jen, but there is so much air-brushing (a usual business practice) that the picture actually blew off my computer screen from the wind!
Retro4Life 08-27-2010, 07:36 PM Also there is going to be nice big fat check for her to do a nude scene. Another reason why not to use a body double.
Good point. Also, the minute the news hit that she was using a body double (and let's face it, it would leak almost instantly in this day and age) whoever would want to go just to see her naked would probably stay home on that basis.
I do agree, though, that getting naked on film isn't a guarantee of success. Madonna did it in "Body of Evidence" and the film bombed. Bo Derek made a career of it and most of her flicks were bombs. It might jump start interest in her but it won't sustain that interest.
catlover79 08-27-2010, 08:52 PM ^ Plus, Halle Berry did that one movie where she had a topless scene and it wasn't a hit. I don't even remember the name of the movie - enough said!!
Retro4Life 08-27-2010, 08:54 PM ^ "Swordfish" was the film's name. And that scene was completely unnecessary, unlike the scene she did in "Monster's Ball", which, while arguably not critical to the film at least made more sense. :)

either she fires her agent and get a new one, or she starts choosing the right scripts and roles. her taking her clothes off will not guarantee her success in the long run.
better still, she should return to TV.
Mr. Television 08-27-2010, 10:33 PM Demi Moore started to do that and her career went down the drain. It sounds like she's desperate.
waichingliu81 08-27-2010, 10:37 PM Demi Moore started to do that and her career went down the drain. It sounds like she's desperate.
but of course- if her movie career was as successful as it should be right now, she wouldn't resort to doing this type of thing.
MrCleveland 08-27-2010, 11:24 PM Looks like Aniston has lost it....
Maybe she should do a comedy with Tim Allen....
catlover79 08-28-2010, 12:35 AM Demi Moore started to do that and her career went down the drain. It sounds like she's desperate.
Good point, but Demi Moore at one point HAD a successful movie career. With the exception of Bruce Almighty and The Break Up, Jennifer Aniston hasn't had a successful movie career.

See, you're making sense!!
PlayOn 08-28-2010, 12:13 PM I would be offeded if people flocked to my movies just because I did a nude scene. I want them to reconize my talent, not how rockin my body is or whatever. She should give TV another try.

and that's all they would be going to see it for because she's advertising it. It might work for the first few but after awhile it'll get old.lol

I'd be glad if people flocked just to see me naked in a film... but that's just me I guess.

Tweety 08-28-2010, 09:58 PM Speaking of careers that really took off after some actress did a "nude" scene, whatever happened to Elizabeth Berkley, anyway?
catlover79 08-28-2010, 10:00 PM Speaking of careers that really took off after some actress did a "nude" scene, whatever happened to Elizabeth Berkley, anyway?
Point taken!! At least she married well, into the Ralph Lauren family.

Now that she's related to a fashion designer she'll never have to go naked again!

Yup, her husband is Greg Lauren, the son of Ralph (I think).
JamesG 08-29-2010, 01:09 AM Speaking of careers that really took off after some actress did a "nude" scene, whatever happened to Elizabeth Berkley, anyway?
In recent years, she has done mainly indie films (the direct-to-video sequel to Donnie Darko being one) and brief stints on "The L-Word" and "CSI: Miami".
I love Showgirls though; I bought the new Blu-ray edition when it came out last month.
PlayOn 08-29-2010, 03:11 AM And so will her body!!!
:rotflmao: true that.
MickeyMac 08-29-2010, 07:29 PM Not all actresses who do nude scenes have their career fail afterwards. Angelina Jolie did a few nude scenes in her career and she is still on the A list.
Another example is Kathleen Turner. After she did a nude scene in Body Heat (which is a great film by the way). Her career took off.
Tweety 08-29-2010, 07:44 PM I guess it really comes down to the movies that the actresses choose to make. I liked several of the movies that Kathleen Turner made over the years (I never saw Body Heat though).
As far as Jolie goes, I just looked at her filmography on her wiki page, and I don't think I've ever seen anything she's done. Yet, I don't feel as though I missed anything either.
I'm sure some of the movies she's done have been good, I guess she's done a lot of action stuff. Some friends of mine said that they enjoyed Mr and Mrs Smith, but I haven't seen it yet.

I think it all goes back to the kind of movie it is. If the movie is bad, no amount of nude scenes are going to help her in the long run. If it is a good movie then it won't hurt. But by advertising this, she seems to be saying, look at my next movie...I'm nude. lol It might work for that one but she can't do that forever with the same result. And I agree...Body Heat was a good movie.

The only one of Jolie's I ever saw I think was Changeling and I saw that because it was a Clint Eastwood movie. She was very good in that one.

LOL, I guess not everyone is Angelina Jolie obsessed like me.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith I actually didn't care for that much. The only thing I liked was seeing Jolie like this:

Go check out her new movie Salt.

Really, the only one? wow...
The movie was good though; too bad it underperformed.

Yea I just went through her filmography and Changeling was the only one I ever saw. Yea it actually got outperformed by Grand Torino. lol It's too bad though because I enjoyed the movie alot.

The movie is a true story too, the Chicken Coop Murders, or something like that.
More people should definitely check Changeling out.

I'm actually a little surprised at how many people I know that haven't seen very much that she's done. Even those people I know who ARE "obsessed" with celebrities just don't seem to make it out to see her stuff. But most movies in general aren't worth going to a theater to see imo, it's not just hers.

I wouldn't really say I'm obsessed; to me that's like always wanting to know their whereabouts, constantly writing fan mails, pictures all over the walls, looking for every article about them.... I'm not like that at all on any celeb.
I just like to watch her movies just because she's in it; no matter if I'm actually interested in it (the plot) or not.
You're right though, she's mostly known for action flicks that appeal to guys such as the Tomb Raider flicks, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Beowulf, Wanted, Salt...
so if you generally like action you will probably have seen a lot of her stuff.
Most of her drama flicks don't really stand out as much as her action flicks like Alexander, The Good Shepherd, Changeling...
catlover79 08-29-2010, 11:45 PM The only Angelina movie that I really cared for was Girl Interrupted. She deserved the Oscar she won for that role! She stole the entire movie out from under top-billed Winona Ryder.
isiahthomas 09-18-2010, 11:05 AM Jennifer Aniston being nude and having sex with 2 women in her next movie isn't going to help her career get better hahahahahahahahahaha. Most of her movies suck and she needs to face that reality. I saw her The Bounty Hunter movie last weekend with Gerard Butler and it sucks.
