I could not agree with the article more.TVLand ,with the exception of "Hot in Cleveland",which is pretty decent, has gone downhill and is not the way TVLand was when it first began. It's worse.

Good article. I used to subscribe to that paper.

Actually, The Cosby Show leaves next month as it is expiring and Little House definitely won't come back as they lose rights in just a matter of days. Star Trek expires this year as well.

I agree that the 60s sitcoms listed will not return.

We're linked on that article, by the way.

Except for what he said about Hot in Cleveland, I completely agree with the article. Tv Land used to be a place to go to watch classic tv. Now it's like every other network. There's no place for any of us classic tv lovers to go. It's sick. All these channels and not room for one that would air what we like. :ohno::

I agree with the article 100%. TV Land's programmers are like 5-year-olds on Riddlin. LEAVE PROGRAMS ALONE AND LET THEM BUILD AN AUDIENCE FOR GOD'S SAKE! And whoever the idiot was behind bringing the Extreme Makeover show to TV Land should be tarred and feathered then fired. If I want to look at a dried-out alcoholic building houses, I can look out my window for God's sake!

As for Hot in Cleveland...OK....yeah, the show has Betty White, which is the only real redeeming quality it has. But the jokes are stale. People watch for Betty White, who I adore, but quite honestly, you take Betty out of it and what do you have? Not much......

One thing that I loved about TV Land was the clever promos that they would do for their programming. Like the one with Beaver's brain:

You don't see promos like that anymore on TV Land.

I also like this montage of commercials from TV Land in 1999:

"Hello out there from TV Land"...

Those were fun. It was cool to see the channel listings at the beginning of the 1999 montage, just to see what was playing on other channels in 1999 (mainly Nickelodeon, because I was watching a lot of that in 1999).

I found a Nickelodeon commercial break from February '99. :D

I watched a lot of Nick back in the 90s too. Oh to be 10 or 11 again. :D
