View Full Version : 1970's Group The Bay City Rollers Want to Reunite....For 1 Dang Song?!?
Brian Damage 08-26-2010, 12:54 AM Former BAY CITY ROLLERS singer LES MCKEOWN is reaching out to his ex-bandmates - he wants them to reunite for a one-off concert.
The Shang-a-Lang hitmakers crumbled after MCKeown quit the group for a solo career in 1978.
Now he is eyeing a lucrative reunion in 2011 or 2012, and has launched a campaign on his website urging his former bandmates - brothers Alan and Derek Longmuir, Eric Faulkner, and Stuart 'Woody' Wood - to join him for a spectacular gig.
He says, "I am trying to put (the band) together, for one time only. Let's see Bay City Rollers, for one time only, back on stage in 2011 or 2012."

Marvo301 08-26-2010, 01:09 AM He wants to reunite the band for one concert not one song. But if they did reunite for one song I would hope that song would be S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night. On Saturday Niiight!!!
catlover79 08-26-2010, 01:33 AM ^ I think that's the ONLY song people know them for. Let's hope if that's the only song they do...no one asks for an encore!!

robyrob 08-26-2010, 05:07 PM i love the Bay City Rollers and I look forward to them getting the band back together man.
The Great One 08-26-2010, 05:57 PM It would be great to see the Bay City Rollers in concert! Hopefully they will decide to do at least a small tour instead of just one concert.
dakert 08-27-2010, 04:53 PM The Bay City Rollers have a lot of Good Songs.
I almost had a chance to see them in LaCrosse WI in the early 90s but not enough tickets were sold so the concert was canceled. A month or so later the venue burned down.
PS-- Les, if you want to reunion to be a bit more Spectacular ask Ian Mitchell to participate
phoebe7165 08-27-2010, 05:21 PM Oh man, when I was younger, I would buy 16 Magazine and Tiger Beat, and the Bay City Rollers were plastered all over them. I never understood their appeal!!! Years later, I feel the same way!:D I stopped buying both magazines because I got tired of half the magazine being about them!
dakert 08-27-2010, 11:03 PM Phoebe, I was wondering who you liked reading about in 16 and Tiger Beat? I usually liked reading about anyone but Shaun Cassidy, BCR and KISS were my favs.
I would love for Shaun Cassidy to tour one more time

I loved Shaun and I also liked Scott Baio and his cousin, Jimmy Baio. Remember Jimmy?? I also loved the Osmond Brothers, not so much Donny, who was mostly in the mags, I preferred Merrill, and my sister's favorite was Jay. I also remember Leif Garrett was all over those magazines at the time, but I never saw the appeal with him, either!!
You mention Shaun touring again. Weird because I started reading those magazines after the David Cassidy craze, and I've seen David twice in concert!! I would've loved to see Shaun, too. He was the reason I watched The Hardy Boys!! Never knew what anybody saw in Parker Stevenson though!!LOL

How weird is this but I just went on Facebook, I haven't been on it in a few days, and Merrill Osmond requested me as a friend!! That's if it's really him!!:D
ComedyGuy 08-30-2010, 05:50 PM Money Honey was recorded by Elvis but it may be a totally different version.
What cover songs could the BCR sing well ???
dakert 09-04-2010, 12:14 AM Leif was one of the talents with lots of charisma who could act and sing. Check out the movies "Spirit Of 76", "Devil Times Five" or "Party Line"

LOL! OK, I still know everyone of those songs!
Does anyone else remember their Saturday morning show in the late 1970's?
I still have my vinyl copies of Rock and Roll Love Letter, Dedication and It's A Game.
*gets up to go rummage through old vinyl records to find the Bay City Rollers*
