Would the show have lasted longer? Would the show still been funny? What are your opinions?

View Full Version : Whit If it Was JJ Who Died And NOT James on 'Good Times?' Brian Damage 08-24-2010, 09:37 AM Would the show have lasted longer? Would the show still been funny? What are your opinions? waichingliu81 08-24-2010, 10:00 AM if JJ had died then i don't think this show would've been as funnier as it was with him in it. i realised in the latter seasons, they turned him into a buffoon and made jimmy walker's character stupider perhaps, but even still good times wouldn't have been as good. losing john amos as james was a blow and he did offer so much to good times, but in terms of light relief and humour, J.J was the man. and besides, seeing him and thelma continously argue with each other and mock one another wouldn't have happened so often. Mr. Television 08-24-2010, 10:21 AM The show would have been gone by the end of the season. I know that now it's popular to criticize the JJ character but he was really popular back in the 70's. It would have been like Fonzie leaving Happy Days. Hughsgirl 08-24-2010, 11:48 AM The show would have been over because JJ was the show....IMO, however I thought it took a big hit when James died. catlover79 08-24-2010, 12:59 PM ^ :yeahthat James and JJ had such a funny dynamic together. "Shut up, Junior!!" TVFactFan 08-28-2010, 12:06 PM The show would have lasted as long as it did with J.J or longer Brian Damage 08-28-2010, 12:18 PM The show would have lasted as long as it did with J.J or longer Interesting, why do you feel that way Sol? TVFactFan 08-28-2010, 12:25 PM Interesting, why do you feel that way Sol? Because there were a lot of people who tuned in to see James not J.J. And Vice Versa |
