We all know Freddie battled alot of "personal demons" All of which is his own fault. I don't mean to sound cruel, but Freddie should've been responsible for Freddie. With that said though, do you perhaps feel that the network NBC that carried Chico & the Man was partly to blame for Freddie's ULTIMATE downfall?

I guess what I am trying to say is did the network do enough to protect its star? Did they step in and shut down production until Freddie went to rehab or even counseling? Did they offer him advice to maybe leave the show altogether OR did they push Freddie to get through scenes and episodes. Push him to do personal appearances, talk shows etc... Did NBC treat Freddie like a commodity and a business and not as a severely flawed human being?

Brain Damage if you can, I would highly reccomend reading the Freddie Prinze Story written by his Mother Maria Pruetzel and another author. It explains alot and may even answer your questions.

As for rehab or drug counseling. I am not sure but I believe that was not the norm back then as it is now. I wish it was and maybe it would of helped him more. But my best answer really is to get the book "the Freddie Prinze Story" You will find it in ebay, ioffer.com , or Amazon
