Not sure...I think I'd have to hear it to see if I've heard it before. The lyrics don't look familiar, but I used to listen to 50s and 60s oldies stations all the time (starting about the time disco got really big... I refused to have anything to do with disco). So chances are, I've heard it, I'm just not sure how it sounds.

Personally I'd much rather listen to disco music than hip hop. DISCO, DISCO DUCK!!!

lol, I do remember the "Disco Duck" song... that was funny, I remember hearing it on the radio.

In music, I've always been partial to good singing...that's the first thing I look for in a song. If the person/group can't sing (a subjective judgment, I admit), that pretty much kills a song for me. I like a good melody (again, subjective judgment) ... I've heard a lot of songs that had a "catchy tune" according to some, that I thought sounded like crap lol. And, I appreciate a good musical accompaniment. I like good musicians. When it comes to lyrics, I don't expect much when it comes to rock, or especially rock n roll.

Disco, to me, was just an endless loop of sound that went on and on and on... I remember "MAD" magazine one time had an "inside look" inside a disco night club. It was a one-panel cartoon that showed the entire interior of the club, and showed the various conversations people were having around the room. At the DJ's station, the DJ was telling the manager "I'm not sure how good I'll be at this, I still don't know how to mix records".... and the manager says "Hey, no problem, just put on this new Donna Summer album. It's EIGHT HOURS LONG". I'm thinking "yup, that pretty much sums it up, right there".

Rap really doesn't have anything that I like in music. There's no singing. They don't play any instruments. Occasionally, someone will do some clever stuff with lyrics, but even if they do, I've never said "wow, I gotta listen to that again!".

When rap first starting getting really big on the "mainstream" radio stations, I, of course, thought it was just a fad. I figured "sooner or later, people will realize that there's nothing going on there, musically". As it turned out, of course, I greatly over-estimated a vast portion of the American people on that one, just as I would a few years later when it came to "reality shows".

How about "Sitting In The Park", and "Reap What You So" by Billy Stewart, they are lesser known.
