How often do you clean out your fridge?

Today I went through the fridge. My sister was over here for a few hours so I had her help me check the expiration dates on the condiments and other items in the fridge. Some of it was fine and some of it I had to throw out.

I eat more than 1/2 of the stuff in my fridge before it gets tossed!

Unf. not often enough. How often? I'm taking the fifth on that one!

Whenever it gets messy or smelly--I dont have any sort of weekly or montly plan on stuff like that lol. Most of the food usually gets eaten.

As a single person, I don't really stock up my fridge that much, so it doesn't need a great deal of cleaning.

I do try on occasion to completely let the stock run down so I can grab the shelving and wash it thoroughly.

I have a little one downstairs with my milk and a few other things in it and a couplr weeks ago 1 of the cartons leaked all over the bottom so I cleaned things out for sure then!!! (uugghh)

I put my food garbage in the refrigerator and my cleaning later throws it out every week when she cleans the house. All I have in there permanently are apple juice, soda, milk, salad dressing, and butter. Obviously I rarely cook.
