The week of February 22, 2010, when I first heard about Andrew Koenig being reported missing, I felt a strong kick in my gut--if nothing else than because to me, though I never knew him personally, Andrew didn't seem like the kind of person to go missing like that.
For 3 days straight, I hoped and prayed that Koenig would return home safely, but alas, on February 25, 2010, Koenig took his own life, aged 41.
I just want to say, for those of you reading this, that if any of you think of taking your own life, DO NOT ignore it; DO NOT rationalize it; DO NOT make it go away; instead, talk to somebody, seek therapy (group or individual).
I can tell you this: there's nothing worse than taking your own life.
I don't know about those of you reading this, but my own personal views on suicide, though I don't encourage it, is that you WILL NOT go to Hell directly from the suicide; rather, if you have NO faith in God, Buddha, Jehovah, or any other higher power, than you won't go to Heaven.
