In 1977, in his modest home in Deep Cove, near Victoria, British Columbia, Cabot suffered a stroke - his second in three years. Cabot was taken to a Victoria Hospital, where he died on August 22, 1977 at the age of 59. He was survived by his wife Kathleen; his two daughters, Annette and Yvonne; and his son, Christopher Cabot. His great-niece, two great-great nephews and two great-great-great nephews and nieces live in Wales. Sebastian Cabot's cremated remains are buried in the urn garden in Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles, California, interred within yards of TV co-star Brian Keith.

I loved Sebastian Cabot's work as Mr. French. It's what really made that show work in my opinion. :rip:

He passed on too soon.

Yes, his character could never be replaced. Wouldn't have felt right.
The show was already different when actor John Williams took Sebastian's place temporarily when he fell ill in the beginning of the series.

Loved that he voiced Bagheera, the panther, in The Jungle Book.
And also did the voice narrations for the Winnie The Pooh cartoon-movies. Thought it was pretty cute that he read 'Pooh' books to Buffy and Jody in the series. *smiles*

Also, it's sad (and ironic?) that co-star Anissa Jones passed away a day later, but a year before him on August 28th, 1976.

I think I still have my Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree record. The man just sounded like a friend even though we never met. I loved Family Affair when I was a kid and he was one of the reasons why. He died far too young. :(

He died only a few years after the show went off the air. Wow. Back then hearing the news I just felt well he was so much older than I. Now it seems he was so young.

I think he was so sad about Buffy, his heart couldn't take the strain. They seemed so "linked" together.
