To end the series?If they had made the episode where Gilligan,and the other castaways find the telephone wires and Gilligan fouls up,gets yelled at by the other castaways,again ,a two-parter,where in the second part,he goes to a raft he had secretly been building,and leaves the island,is picked up by the Coast Guard,and tells the Coast Guard where the S.S.Minnow was shipwrecked,and,with the Coast Guard,goes back to the island,where the castaways meet him,yell at him AGAIN,before learning that he left with plans to rescue them.They then apologize,and pack to leave.When they arrive back in the States,FINALLY off the Island,to a cheering crowd,and go on their separate ways.And yes,they DO keep in touch.

i think that they all should've gotten off the island and opened a Polynesian-themed restaurant on solid ground in the middle of Nebraska.
