Does Anybody immediately think of the Odd Couple when you hear or read the word "Assume?"


For those who may not, let me refresh your memories...


‘Never ASSUME, because when you ASSUME, you make an ASS of U and ME.’ This line was Felix’s in the episode ‘My Strife in Court’. Felix was in court for scalping opera tickets to a woman. While cross-examining the woman in court, Felix asked the woman if he told her he had been selling the ticket. The woman says she just assumed he was. Felix pounces & nails her with the ‘assume’ quote.

I never knew this saying was from The Odd Couple. Whenever The Odd Couple is released as complete set I will watch this episode and then think of the saying :wave:

I always think of this scene. I don't know if this is the origin of that line, but it's definately what I think of when I say it, or someone says it to me.
