There are some episodes which show Ward at work in the office, but I don't think his occupation was ever revealed. Does anyone know what Ward was said to have done for a living? Was he an insurance salesman, or an accountant perhaps?

I read somewhere that he was an accountant.

Yeah, I always took it that he was a CPA.

This has always been a question that has went unanswered, but I recall him telling Beaver that when he was in the Seabees, he was an engineer so I can't figure out why he would change careers after the seabees. He said this in the episode "Beaver's Hero" when Beaver told his friends at school that his dad was a war hero.

Do accountants usually conduct surveys on women shoppers? That's what he did in one episode when he didn't want interruptions by the family.

I think Lumpys dad worked at the same place Ward did? I meen wasnt there an episode where Mr.Rutherford got a promotion, and Ward was upset because he wanted to be promoted? Maybe I'm thinking of another sitcom.

Fred Rutherford and Ward worked for the same company, but I don't recall Ward being upset by Fred getting promoted.

I'm thinking Mr. Rutherford got a certain project at work that Ward was hoping to get.

Yeah I recall that Ward wanted some account and Fred beat him out of it (unfairly I'm sure) they speak about it in "Beaver's Blackeye."
