The relationship between Dorothy and mother("Ma"-I think only once Dorothy called Sophia "Mom"once)was in first seasonand the earlier seasons, kind of caustic.Later on,in latter seasons Dorothy and Sophia was more of a loving relationship.Has anyone noticed this? And a question:Was the relationship between Dorothy and Sophia still as loving as it was on the latter seasons on "The Golden Girls"in the episodes that Dorothy was in on "The Golden Palace"?

This morning at the very end of the first episode shown on Hallmark,at 8/7 AM Central,Dorothy said to Sophia,"oh,go to-----".Sophia walked away.I think that doing this was way out of line for Dorothy.Sophia should have REALLY let Dorothy have it,verballly, and bawled her out but good.Did anyone see this episode on Hallmark and what are your thoughts about this?Maybe this was an early episode(was it?),because Dorothy's relationship was awfully caustic and mean-spirited towards Sophia.

Sophia was never going to win any mother of the year awards. She did a lot to Dorothy that a mother wouldn't do to a child and Dorothy rarely spoke up. The episode where Dorothy says Go to Hell is in Questions and Answers in season 7. Sophia gives it to her DAUGHTER pretty good that nobody wants her in their livingroom on jeopardy and then offers her a lifesaver and Dorothy says Go to hell. Well deserved if you ask me. Sophia wasn't always supportive of Dorothy when she should have been.
