Actually there were 4 Lucille Ball Shows. The 4th was the short lived Life With Lucy. And at least one actor (besides Lucy Herself) appeared in all 4 shows. And that actor is Gale Gordon. He played Ricky Ricardo's boss Mr. Littlefield on 2 episodes of "I Love Lucy". He then played banker Theodore J. Mooney on "The Lucy Show" and went on to play Harrison Otis "Uncle Harry" Carter on "Here's Lucy". Finally he played Curtis McGibbon on "Life With Lucy".

A couple corrections: Carole Cook never appeared on I Love Lucy. She actually didn't meet Lucille Ball until 1959. And Lucie Arnaz also never appeared on I Love Lucy, though Desi Jr. did. But you can add the following:

Doris Singleton
Hans Conried
Parley Baer
Danny Thomas and Milton Berle (I'm including the Lucy-Desi hours as an extension of I Love Lucy)

Jerry Hausner (Ricky's agent, Jerry) appeared on Here's Lucy once. I could be wrong, but I'm thinking he might have also appeared on The Lucy Show once during the first season, but I can't identify the episode.

Getting even more technical, My Favorite Husband (1948-51) would make it five Lucille Ball series. And Mary Jane Croft and Gale Gordon were on that one as well. Gale Gordon was a regular cast member on My Favorite Husband, playing banker Rudolph Atterbury, George's boss. And incidentally, the only other series Lucille Ball appeared on as a regular (though not as the star) was The Phil Baker Show way back in 1938. And Gale Gordon was on that one, too, as the announcer! And another "by the way," if you were to count the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour as a separate series (though I consider it I Love Lucy with a longer format), Gale was on that one, too (in "Lucy Makes Room for Danny")! I think it must have been some sort of destiny for Lucy and Gale to be a team.

That's right, I goofed with Carole Cooke.

As far as Lucie and Desi Jr., I thought they both appeared in "The Ricardo's Dedicate a Statue". But maybe I'm wrong.

And how about Ann Sothern? Was she on HL?

I didn't count LWL because I thought Gale was the only one besides Lucy that appeared in the other shows. I do often wonder though, if Life With Lucy lasted more than a half season, who else might have shown up later. Mary Jane Croft? Mary Wickes?

no, Lucie Arnez wasn't in that "I LOVE LUCY" episode. I read an interview with her once where she said she always heard that she was but she never saw the episode so she couldn't confirm it. Then she finnally did see it once, but she wasn't in it. It was a girl she was friends with at the time.

Gale Gordon also appeared on "THE LUCY-DESI COMEDY HOUR" once, he played a judge in the episode "LUCY MAKES ROOM FOR DANNY" (the cross-over episode they did with the William family from "MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY"-the show that took over the "I LOVE LUCY" timeslot of mondays at 9)

It's an urban legend that Lucie appeared in that episode. I think the genesis of this error is Bart Andrews' 1976 book, Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel: The Story of I Love Lucy, which was generally accurate, but still contained several errors (as most books do). One other myth that I think may have come out of this book is the doozy that Vivian Vance's contract required her to be 15 pounds overweight. I give Andrews great credit for his book because it was the first time anyone had ever attempted to write such a thorough book about a TV series. And for years, it was the only in-depth book on the show and long considered the I Love Lucy "bible." So everyone took it as the gospel truth, and for years it was used as the primary reference by other writers who wrote anything about the show. Consequently, these myths continued to get perpetuated.

As for this false claim that Lucie appeared with Desi Jr. in that episode, the girl who appears in that scene is rather tall. She had to have been at least 10 years old. But Lucie at that time was only 5 and 1/2. She really doesn't even resemble Lucie at all, so I don't understand how this mistake was made other than an assumption must have been made that, because the boy is clearly Desi Jr., the girl must be his sister. But she's certainly not. Lucie Arnaz addressed this myth in a recent interview. I think it was her interview on the Lucy Show season one DVD set.

And how about Ann Sothern? Was she on HL?

No, after those appearances as the Countess Framboise during the third and fourth seasons of The Lucy Show, she never appeared again with Lucille Ball. I don't know why. As far as I know, they remained friends, but they just didn't work together again.

Really? I don't remember seeing her on I Love Lucy. What episodes of I Love Lucy was she in, and who did she play?
