Last week my year and a half of unemployment finally ended. On August 5th I applied to the Target that I worked at for five years from 1994 to 1999. Two days later I was called for an interview and was hired on the spot. Its only part time work and certainly not in my career field but it is just really nice to have a paycheck coming in. :)

That is great! I worked at Target for a couple of months. They are a good company.

Congrats.
I like Target.
Just caught Career Opportunities on TV last night, that takes place at Target.

I'm very sorry to hear that, Mickey. :( I think one of the reasons that the store got back to me in such a short time span is because I have a five year history with them. I'm also getting paid more then most new employees (who start out at $8.75) because I'm a rehire. I'm making $14 an hour, which is pretty good for retail work. I understand your frustration because it took me forever to find work and I'm disappoined that it isn't in education since that's what I did go to college for. I am thankful to be back to work though.

Thanks, everyone. Target is one of my favorite places to shop as well. Two years ago I bought the delux edition of American Gangster (which inludes a book!) for a mere $9.99 even though it was over $20 everywhere else. Target always has great deals like that.

That's good that you found work.
It took me 20 months to find the one I have now. I've been their employee for 27 months!
