David Cassidy: Man Undercover was a midseason bomb whose failure is credited by the former Keith Partridge to production problems and poor scripts. The series goes unmentioned in his autobiography.

I thought the title was stupid.
David Cassidy was one of the recognizable person on the planet.
They call the show,"David Cassidy:Man Undercover".
What TV production, outside of the Partridge Family was successful for him?
Ruby and the Rockets? The David Cassidy Story?
They were terrible.
The one thing successful thing he had was the Partridge Family and then he says he doesn't want to be remembered for it.

I was one of the few who watched it and liked it. I seem to remember an ep where his former wife Kay Lenz was in it. Too bad they took it off...

Hey, it's Tony Vincenzo from Kolchack: The Night Stalker!
(Simon Oakland, next to Cassidy)
I never saw this David Cassidy show.
For some reason, I don't even remember it being on.
With only 10 episodes I guess it would be fairly easy to miss.

I have the series on DVD, I'll agree the writing was rather poor. The first three episodes are pretty good, after that is a big drop off. Understandable why it only lasted 10 episodes. But it's still an interesting series, the theme song is great and David Cassidy performs well in the episodes. It's just unfortunate that he was given very little to work with.

I remember a site saying that there was an extended version of the show's theme song which was planned as a single but was never released. Here is the site:
http://www.chezgrae.com/dcmu/
And here are the lyrics to the would-be extended version:
Love is a child
Warm like the smile
Of the woman who makes you believe what you're doing is right
Lost in that dream
It's hard to believe
That the life that you lead when you're out on the street is a fight
You face it every night
CHORUS
Hard times, hard crimes
Whose soul are you saving
And are they saving anything for you?
Hard times, hard crimes
Whose life will be taken?
Are you gonna let them take a piece of you?
Caught in her eyes
You shed your disguise
Then you leave it behind
And in too short a time
You find
You're undercover
REPEAT CHORUS
And the lyrics to the TV version:
Love is a child
Warm like her smile
But you leave it behind and in too short a time you'll find
You're undercover
CHORUS
Hard times
Hard, hard crimes
Whose soul are you saving?
And are they saving anything for you?
All you're gonna find are hard times
Hard times,
Hard, hard crimes
Whose life will be taken?
Are you gonna let them take a piece of you?
