Sure Good Times taught us valuable social lessons like recession, poverty, government etc...

It also taught us valuable pop cultural references as well...

But MOSTLY it taught us how to spell!!!

That's right, as a kid watching this show, I actually learned how to spell Mississippi! All it took was a friendly little jingle from the Evans family and it never escaped my concious again. True story, I actually taught my daughter this jingle when she needed to spell it and it worked!

It should also teach younger viewers not to have more than one kid if you are struggling financially-lol

Forget all that money you were going to spend on swimming lessons for your kids. Just put them in front of the TV when Good Times is on and they'll learn to keep their heads above water!!!
