This was pretty outrageous!
The Golden Girls 25th Anniversary Collection Promises a Sickening Display of Humanity’s Bitter End (http://christwire.org/2010/08/the-golden-girls-25th-anniversary-collection-promises-a-sickening-display-of-humanitys-bitter-end/)

"There was something subversively tawdry about the programming from that era. Whether it was Designing Women or Spenser for Hire, Hotel or Murphy Brown, each sketched out a flamboyant worldview in pastel hues that was specifically targeted at the confused and awkward. But there was one show in particular that recklessly upped the ante in this high stakes poker game of modern morality. What The Golden Girls postulated for America was nothing less than a neo-socialist landscape populated by same-sex “family” units composed of jobless predators whose lives revolved around food, clothes and brawny men."

They can say what they want but "The Golden Girls" is more popular today than it ever was. I don't think their attacks are gonna hurt the franchise any. :)

I should point out that, depending on who you speak to, that site is either
*a site that serves as a parody of extremist Christianity
*a site SO on the lunatic fringe of the religion that many of the articles are both hilarious and sad.
Either way this kind of article should be taken with a gallon of salt, and it should be noted that even if the site is legitimate, it's not a reflection of mainstream Christianity.

I hope these idiots go to great lengths to make a big deal about the Golden Girls. All they'll do is draw more people into the show. Have at it, crazy religious people.

Wow. Being a Christian, I'm offended by that website. God isn't some nut like the creators of this rubbish.

So, this little half-hour sitcom is responsible for the entire gay community of the world. This little half-hour sitcom gave all gays everywhere the avenues to "spew their dirty seeds."
It is pretty clear their hate is directed at homosexuals. Given that "The Golden Girls" was popular among the gay community, then that must mean they deserve hate too.
Wow. Just. Wow.

I'm one of them...well I'm not a religious nut but I am a conservative and for me The Golden Girls is the best series of the 1980's (far better than the over hyped Cosby Show which ceased to be funny after the third season) and is in my Top 5 shows of all time. I often wonder what God thinks about what some people do in his name.

My aunt was conservative and loved The Golden Girls. I agree with you The Cosby Show was overhyped. I liked that show as a kid but it doesn't have a rewatch factor with me now as an adult. The Golden Girls still has a rewatch factor with me today.
