I know this isn't much help but it seems like I saw an update to this once where he was, I could be mistaken though. Can't remember any details. Its just one of those vague images in your head thats so remote you aren't even sure if its a real memory or you just imagined a possible update and after so much time has passed it somehow gets confused with reality.

I do remember the segement though and I am thinking he was identified, not 100% sure though.

He was never identified.

There's a theory the U/I man might have been responsible for the 1981(?) murder of Fr. Patrick Ryan in Odessa, TX and another priest in Arizona, though. A man named Harry Reyos was convicted of Fr. Ryan's murder, but apparently there's some doubt about his guilt. A pair of sunglasses found on the man's person were traced back to a gift shop in Arizona as well as his distinctive belt buckle, I believe.

Here's a link to only a parcel of an investigatory article a couple of years back from the Austin Chronicle. Warning: there's a post-mortem picture here:

Yikes  ! I know it's always been debated about whether it was necessary to show Jasper Wadkins' dead body on UM, but I've always wondered if they should have done the same thing for some of the John and Jane Does in the earlier episodes since I think the odds of someone making a positive ID from a sketch is really slim.

However, now that I know that this picture has been floating around the Internet and the guy STILL has never been identified, I don't think showing it on TV would have made much difference.

Thanks for the information everyone, unbelivable that he was never identifed and interesting that he was thought to have murdered those priests.
