I just saw the episode called "A Doctor in the House" from season 5. In the beginning scene Ozzie is talking to Doc in a hotel lobby. The scene ends with the hotel clerk talking to a bellboy played by Skip Young. I'm pretty sure he wasn't playing Wally because after all he was working :D . Makes me wonder what was the first episode that had Wally in it. From TV.com the earliest I can tell would be season 6 episode 3 where Rick takes David's fraternity pin.

Where did you get that episode?

That must be the episode where Doc Wiliams stays with the Nelsons for a few days while his wife is out of town?Doesn't Ozzie end up having to get his tonsils taken out? Or is that another episode?

I think before the episode where Ricky takes Daves frat. pin, Wally was in the episode Kappa something or others, where Dave is first joining the fraturnity, and throws a party at the house. Wallys is 'the kid eating cake' or something like that.

Speaking of 'Wally', I got some of the My Three Sons dvd seasons, and Skip was on an episode.

Yes that's the episode. Ozzie doesn't get his tonsils out but is convinced that Doc is trying to trick him into getting his tonsils out. Seems like this season (5) Doc is Ozzie's main friend.

That's right when Oz finally gets around to having Doc check him out, about his throat hurting, he says something like have you been feeling/rubbing your neck a lot? That's probably why it hurts. Which Oz had been because he and everyone else was feeling his throat to see if they could tell if it was swollen.

Yes, I think that this was the first season without Thorny (Don Defore) and the first with Joe Randolph (Lyle Talbot), and Joe hadn't yet come to the fore as Ozzie's main friend like he did a little later. Doc was a very good supporting character though, as was Darby, and I liked both of those guys on on other shows of that era as well -- Frank Cady on Petticoat Junction and Beverly Hillbillies and Parley Baer on the Andy Griffith Show.

I agree and as much as I like Frank Cady, Thorny is sorely missed. Cady was in a lot of the 56-57 episodes such as Busy Christmas which he has a large part in.
