But only if she believes she can. If you watch the episode, "A Very Informal Dress", notice how she was very confident while doing all of those things-like zapping up a dress for Sam ("Ring-a-ding-a-doo!") and zapping up a suit for Darrin, and moving the fire hydrant, and all sorts of things. Besides, even if her spells don't go as she plans them, it still takes a good deal of magic to actually do it. (Like zapping up the saucer and aliens and sending them all back to the first Thanksgiving!) I guess Aunt Clara isn't as "earthbound" as she thinks! How about that, huh?

Oh, no one is denying she can't do magic. It's just that it always backfires on her (except briefly in S4 when Endora's powers were transferred over to her when Endora came into contact with the ancient macedonian dodo bird).

you seem to be forgetting in season three just as darrin was walking to the living room and was about to see clara's trial. aunt clara just waved her arms and said goodbye everybody they disappeared. so yes if clara concentrated she can do magic.

You're right - I'd forgotten about that. Poor Darrin had to go lie down after witnessing that feat.

No problem. The words may be slightly different, but it was along the lines of:
Since we're on the subject of Aunt Clara. I always liked the fact that in spite of her well intentioned "goofs", Darrin seem to have sympathy for Aunt Clara. When I was a kid watching the show, I had the impression that of all of Samantha's family, it seemed that he genuinely liked Aunt Clara. Probably because she supported the marriage.

Thanks again. You're right that Darrin had a soft spot for Aunt Clara, who was without a doubt the nicest of Sam's wacky relatives. She only wanted her niece and her husband to be happy. :D
