I will be having a second surgery on my nose on Monday. Back in 2008 I broke my nose which deviated my septum and I had to have a combined septoplasty and rhinoplasty. My septum redeviated and scar tissue also formed on bridge of my nose and I also developed poylps in nasal cavaties. The surgery will address all these issues. The recovery and healing process are going to be a bit longer this time around. I will have to plastic splints in each nostril that will be stiched into my nose for 4 weeks. I will have to wear an external nose cast for 14 days.

I just got home awhile. I had my surgery this morning at 6 am. Everything went fine. I feel pretty good. I have to go in for appointment to tomorrow to remove some of the packing and to check on the splints that inside in my nose.

Thank you both for the well wishes and the prayers. I had some the gauze packing removed today which lessened the discomfort of the splints.

Ty. ^ I hope it heals well this time around. Nose surgeries are hard to recover from because the plastic splints are uncomfortable and it's hard going out in public with a nose cast.

I can only imagine how it must feel going out in public with a nose cast. It's bad enough enduring stares in a leg cast!! Godspeed to you!! I hope you don't need to wear it for long! How does it feel to sleep with it on? I imagine it must be pretty awkward.

Sleeping with the nose cast on isn't too bad. I have to sleep with my head in elevated position for awhile. The internal nostril splints bother me more because they are inside each nostril and are stiched inside my nose. I get the nose cast off next Monday.

I got my nose cast off this morning. It was supposed to come off on Monday but my doctor delayed removing it due to some swelling that formed. Right now I have to wear two breathe right strips for at least 3 days. My doctor examined my nostrls and looked inside and he said the internal splints can be removed on Monday. I'm pretty happy about that. My doctors are also scheduling my uuvla removal surgery for sometime in December.

Why are they removing your uvula? (Just curious).

They are going to remove it due to breathing problems and mild sleep apnea.
