Former child star Lance Kerwin has been pleaded guilty to a second-degree theft charge due to which he has been sentenced to five years in probation. The 49-year-old actor was placed on probation for a period of five years on Thursday and has also been ordered to perform 300 hours of community service for the theft charge that has been found guilty of. Lance Kerwin is best known for edging the title role in the 1977 made-for-television movie “James at 15.”

The former actor who has refrained from acting since the mid 1990’s, was found responsible for producing false documents in a bid to attain the medical assistance as well as food stamps from the state. While revealing details of the case, defense attorney Craig De Costa revealed that Lance Kerwin filed an application for the benefits despite the fact that he was the owner of as many as three properties in the mainland. The 49-year-old former actor who supposedly quit acting to become a pastor, has stated that he has already paid the amount of $21,822 in restitution.

Prior to his sentencing, Lance Kerwin apologized for his actions but added that he really did not want to minimize his deeds by making a statement in this regard. The former actor, who is a pastor at the Calvary Chapel in Kapaa also noted that his actions has had an impact on the community, the other church members as well as his children. However, the former child actor also expressed hope that his sentencing would effect his life in a positive manner.

*Doing what to it?

Anyway, he's best known for starring in the series James At 15/James At 16 which was preceded by what could certainly be perceived (perhaps 100% correctly) as a made-for-TV movie. However IMDB shows that as being the series pilot and not separate from the show at all.

Speaking of Kerwin & IMDB, for some reason I seem to recall some years back where Lance tried to get IMDB to delete his page since he was now a pastor and no longer working in the TV/movie biz. Kinda like he had wanted to "erase" his show business past.

Kinda reminds me of that guy from my hometown who had done a porno while out on vacation in Palm Springs. Movie became a hit. Anyway once he had came back to Virginia ( and became sober ) he hired a lawyer to get the movie taken off the internet, deleting wikipedia pages, etc.....

Lets just say that both he and Lance Kerwin weren't successful. Once its out there...well it will always be out there..someplace !!! :D
