A big part of 'Silver Spoons' charm was Ricky's Dad being a big grown up kid. His toys, especially his infamous train were great. Once NBC decided to have Edward Stratton grow up and have a relationship & get rid of all his toys, the show sank. Agree? Disagree?

I liked the show either way. Set don't matter.

While I liked the toys and arcades in the 1st 3 seasons, the stories were just too hokey at times (at least in the 1st 2 seasons).
But the stories in the last 2 seasons seemed better, IMO.

I think it's great that Edward decided to grow up and have a real relationship with Ricky but it should have been a gradual change not something that happened all at once.

They probably figured that if Ricky grew up, so should his dad.
