Janeane Garofalo, Chris Kattan, Dennis Miller, John Ritter, Tone Loc (twice), Bebe Neuwirth, George Hamilton, Al Roker, Wesley Jonathan, Leelee Sobieski, Bob Costas, James Caan, Ben Stiller, Chuck D, Norm Macdonald (twice)(voice-once), David St. James, George Lindsey, Michael James McDonald, Jon Stewart, Jon Lovitz (twice), Jerry Seinfeld, Lauren Graham (four), Scott Valentine, Paul Gleason, Peter Spellos, Ron Jeremy, Robert Hegyes, Adam West, and Tiffani-Amber Thiessen. Now the trick is to name the characters and/or episodes/situations :
Janeane Garofalo- Dave's (ex)-girlfriend from Wisconsin whom he "apparently" never broke up with.
John Ritter- popular psychologist Jimmy brings from time to time in to boost morale and relieve the stress of the staff (can't think of his name, though) It's Dave's first experience with him. Dave winds up playing therapist to him; he has issues with homosexuality.
Al Roker-maybe himself, claims he's not and "I get that a lot" He's in the press corps at Jimmy James's presidential candidacy press conference.
Bob Costas-himself, hosts the radio awards which WNYX sweeps (Can't think of the name but it annoys Lisa, AR...? ABSA that's it!)
James Caan- himself, at WNYX to research a role. There to observe Bill, but becomes fascinated with Matthew instead. "That's the weirdest son of a bitch I ever saw" (Or something like that)
Chuck D- himself, interviewed by Bill about rap lyrics
Norm MacDonald- one of Jimmy's lawyers-Jimmy tells him to explain something, then interrupts him and finishes his explanation.
George Lindsey ("Goober")- himself, Jimmy James in court episode where Joe knows the secret Masonic word which requires a judge to rule in your favor if uttered in court
Jon Stewart- Matthew's "identical" twin brother, or so he lets Matthew think. says Matthew was adopted, but Matthew knows it was his brother who actually the adopted one but plays along.
Jon Lovitz- 1. fellow inmate at the asylum where Bill is mistakenly committed
2. Jumper on the ledge who was fired by JJ Inc. and wants his say and his job back.
Jerry Seinfeld- himself, while eating at a restaurant is approached for an interview by Lisa and Bill who are desperate for something to fill their new show.
Lauren Graham- efficiency expert, several episodes. Among other things she: Fires Matthew, installs Lisa as news director.
Ron Jeremy- man at bookstore when Jimmy James reads from his re-translated from Japanese biography
Robert Hegyes- Joe's oldest brother the priest "enforcer" who keeps all the Garelli (SP?) brothers in line.
Tiffani-Amber Thiessen- interested in dating Dave, Joe gets jealous and frustrated until she reveals she's actually interested in both of them
dugferd 01-12-2002, 02:16 AM just remembered:
George Hamilton- the mobster whom Beth went to for a loan (or had some kind of business with) to make her scarf-like-things (don't remember exactly what they were). She tries all of Jimmy James's negotiation methods (answer all questions with a question...that sort of thing). Winds up crying and that's how she gets her way.
Dr. Lilith Sternin 02-27-2002, 11:45 PM Bebe Neuwirth played Sandy, Beth's friend who stole all her men, if I remember correctly? I haven't seen the ep in a long time!

Slippery Dan 03-01-2002, 06:39 PM Tone Loc played a security guard in that one episode where Bill forgets his ID and can't get it. The other episode is where, um, that Santa Clause is out to get Bill I think.
Wesley Jonathan (Jamal from City Guys) played a high school kid that though that Lisa was Dave's mom (and though she was very hot) when they went to take their SAT's.
Leelee Sobieski played in the same episdeo from above. Lisa is talking to her about how important the SAT's are and she starts to worry and Lisa gives her a cigarette.
Ben Stiller played Vic the guy who worked at the gym who conned Bill into joining thinking he was getting Ted Chambers as a personal trainer. He also refered to Bill as a shock jock.
Scott Valentine played the director of the news when Bill auditioned to be a newscaster on a TV station.
Adam West played himself who saved Mr. James from being conviced as D.B. Cooper by admitting that he himself was actually D.B. Cooper.
There's some guest stars you missed.
Kevin McDonald (Kids In The Hall) played Throwgali, Dave's knife throwing rival from Wisconsin.
Bob Odekirk & David Cross (Mr. Show on HBO) played Bob and David, Dave's former "Chock Full 'O Notes" band members.
Brian Posehn (Kevin on Just Shoot Me) played in the same episode as Kevin, another member of "Chock". Joe keeps on trying an excuse to kbeat him up. He also played in the episode where Mr. James does his book reading "Jimmy James: Macho Business Donkey Wrestler" as a person in the crowd and asks him "What did you mean when you said, Feel my scales, donkey, donkey, donkey, donkey, donkey."
God I watch that show too much.

I love that episode.
"So, we meet again, Throwdini..."
My roommate and I said that to each other for weeks.
dugferd 03-19-2002, 12:38 AM Chris Kattan worked at the photo lab where Beth had her nude pictures developed. (OK, It was on today)
The talent show episode was great: "the great ventriloquidini"
dugferd 03-19-2002, 12:45 AM To Slippery Dan: "God I watch that show too much." -
not possible, my friend.
Freakzilla 03-19-2002, 05:18 PM Bob Odekirk, David Cross, and Brian Posehn also appeared in episodes individually. Bob played a doctor in the episode where Matthew hurt himself. David first appeared as Jimmy's weird nephew Theo. Brian was a reporter at Jimmy's book reading. "Do the yum yum clown monkeys also represent the FCC?"
Toby Huss appeared as both Junior, Tone Loc's security partner (2 episodes) and Jack Frost, Jimmy's supposed security advisor.
dugferd 03-24-2002, 08:20 PM Also surprised Patrick Warburton wasn't listed for Johnny Johnson. (was also Puddy from Seinfeld)
