View Full Version : If You Love A Food, Buy It, And Savor It, Before It Is No Longer Sold!
Janice Johnson 07-24-2010, 08:32 PM How many times has this happened to you? You see a food item at a food place, and you eat it, and LOVE it, and when you go back to buy it again, the food place no longer sells it anymore? :( That's happened to me before. :(
Dunkin Donuts- used to have a steak sandwich. I loved it and it was yummy. I went there again another day, and I was told the steak sandwich was permenantly put off of the menu.
Dunkin Donuts- Used to havepowdered sugar chocolate cream filled doughnuts, and I used to eat them up, they were my favorite doughnuts. Went back to DD, and was told they no longer manufactured those donuts. The closest thing to this doughnut is Krispy Kreme's vanilla frosting filled doughnut. but, it's not the same. :(
Krispy Kreme-krispy Kreme used to have a doughnut that had strawberry frosting on the top, with graham cracker crumbs and was strawberry creme filled. Im LOVED this doughnut, but Krispy Kreme told me they don't manufacture this doughnut anymore.:(
Wonka Company-Wonka Donut. A Wonka Donut was a chocolate shell doughnut, filled with delicious chocolate ganache, and on the outside was little cnady sprinkles. That chocolate Donut was one of my favorite cndies of all time, and I soon read that Wonka cancelled the Donut, as it was just to promote the 2005 Wonka Movie. NOOOOOOOOOOO! :(
Wonka Company-Wonka Bar(The one that came in 2005 to promate charlie and the chocolate factory). It was a graham cracker, covered in chocolate. it was delicious, but only around to promote the movie.. :(
Butterfinger-Butterfinger Crisp- BC was a delicious candy that had wafer, butterfinger cream, and chocolate. I haven't seen in any stores in a good year or so. :(
Oreo-Oreo Bars. This was an Oreo cookie, just put into deliciouscandy bar form. i loved this too it was soon canceled. :(
M&Ms-Mazing. Mazing was a tasty chocolate bar, filled with M&Ms. I loved eating this bar, but it was canceled. :(

JamesG 07-25-2010, 11:14 AM One product I miss is Vanilla Coke.
I have heard that it is still available in "limited release" today but I haven't seen it stocked in a few years. Nobody near me has it for sale.

JamesG 07-25-2010, 01:02 PM My Walgreens still sells Vanilla Coke.:)
Thanks for that. Not too long ago a Walgreens opened up near me. I should go there soon to see if they have it.
I don't know why it isn't mass-produced anymore.
MickeyMac 07-25-2010, 02:48 PM Remember the soda called Slice???
Mr. Television 07-25-2010, 02:53 PM Remember the soda called Slice???
I drank that once and it almost took a slice out of my throat. lol
JamesG 07-25-2010, 03:14 PM Remember the soda called Slice???
Don't remember it. I remember Surge.
Janice Johnson 07-25-2010, 03:41 PM Does anyone remember an ice cream called Vienna Ice Cream? It looked like an ice cream loaf, with white frosting ruffles. I wanted to eat it when I was a kid, but I was under my Mom's rule as a child, and she wouldn't buy it for me. But now, I am a working adult with my own money, not under my Mom's rule anymore, and can buy it and eat it if I want. The problem is, I haven't seen it in stores since I was a kid, but truly wish I could have eaten it.:(

They have it at local grocery stores in my town. Vanilla Coke and Diet Vanilla Coke
Sorry but :barf:
MickeyMac 07-26-2010, 02:32 PM Anybody remember the clear pepsi???

Wasn't its name 'Crystal Pepsi'? I remember that and the more recent 'Pepsi Blue'.
I never drank the two of them.
OH Nuts! 07-26-2010, 04:57 PM Many yrs ago there was a diet soda out called diet apple slice. It was wonderful - it tasted just like Martinelli's sparking cider. Sadly, diet apple slice disappeared and to this day I still miss it.

:(
I used to love these. Both the chocolate- and vanilla-creme filled donuts were awesome!!! As I recall, DD carried these for years, then all of a sudden, they stopped selling them. Talk about disappointing. :(
Number 9 Dream 07-27-2010, 11:51 PM I remember the vanilla and chocolate creme-filled donuts. My job (at a local grocery store) used to carry Dunkin' Donuts for our customers and these were sold regularly. I loved 'em. However, we got rid of DD and went with a local bakery for our breakfast items a few years ago and I didn't even notice DD had phased them out.
There are soooo many foods/drinks I wish were still still on the market, especially ones from my childhood (born in '82, so anything from the late 80's onward is what I remember): Oatmeal Swirlers (oatmeal that came with packets of strawberry jelly and sometimes hot fudge. The jelly was the best, though); Pop Quiz popcorn (popcorn that was dyed all sorts of funky colors. You didn't know what color you'd get until you popped it...ooo, mystery :D ); Orbitz drinks (carbonated and flavored water with little colored gel balls floating inside. I didn't LOVE 'em, but they were a cool novelty); Hershey's S'mores bars. Do they even make these anymore? I last saw them in 2005 or so...; and I miss old recipes of products that are still on the market today. For instance, I truly believe Doritos tasted better in the 80's and early 90's. More rich flavor. I still love Doritos, but something has changed in their recipe and it's not the same. Same with most chocolate bars.

Speaking of Doritos did you (or anyone else) like the 3D Doritos? These were introduced sometime in the late 90s and were stopped sometime in the early 2000s.
These were pretty big when I was in high school.
KurtfromPitts 07-28-2010, 01:22 PM I tried the 3-D Doritos and they weren't bad.

Any and all kind of Doritos are wonderful. They are my downfall. I could eat them non-stop SO I never bring them in the house. I LOVE (LOVE) the taco flavored ones. Once in a while I still see them. They were divine. But all the Dorito flavors are good though. But the taco, pizza and salsa flavored ones send me to the moon and back. I don't eat them anymore for health reasons but if I could eat them w/o abondon I would - & would go thru 2 big bags easy.
JamesG 07-28-2010, 06:08 PM Hershey's S'mores bars. Do they even make these anymore? I last saw them in 2005 or so...
Yeah, the Hershey's S'mores bars aren't made anymore.
One that I miss is the Cookies n' Mint bar.

Ah yes, I do remember those! They were ok. I remember the commercial more than anything. They were a big hit in high school, I agree.
Number 9 Dream 07-28-2010, 10:43 PM Yeah, the Hershey's S'mores bars aren't made anymore.
One that I miss is the Cookies n' Mint bar.
Damn, and those things were so good too.
Cookies n' Mint sounds familiar but I don't believe I've ever had it. Sounds like something I'd love, though

I hear ya on that one! I seem to love anything fattening too. I truly believe Doritos puts crack in their chips; I could easily down a whole bag!
Janice Johnson 07-28-2010, 11:50 PM Does any one remember Hidden Treasures Cereal? They were corn cereal squares, and the point of the cereal was that some squares had a "treasure", a square that was filled with strawberry jelly. You never knew what square had strawberry jelly in it, and it was fun. It was actually like a game. :) Oh, how I loved the Hidden Treasures Cereal.:)

Speaking of apple flavored soda does anyone remember Aspen. It was an apple flavored soda that was on the market for a short time in the 70's.

Oh I loved the Cookies n' Mint bar. I wish they would make that instead of the Cookies n' Cream bar. I was so upset when Kool-Aid stopped making Purplesaurus Rex. :(
JamesG 07-31-2010, 11:32 AM Oh I loved the Cookies n' Mint bar. I wish they would make that instead of the Cookies n' Cream bar.
I don't remember them much from their original introduction, sometime in the early 90s, but I know them from their recent re-introduction.
They were made a few years ago as a special limited edition bar and they suddenly stopped.
OH Nuts! 07-31-2010, 03:43 PM I hear ya on that one! I seem to love anything fattening too. I truly believe Doritos puts crack in their chips; I could easily down a whole bag!
