View Full Version : Like or Dislike????
Rezny@gmail.com 07-23-2010, 06:44 PM Do you LIKE or DISLIKE the way TVLand scrunches the end credits of their TV shows?(yes,I know most networks and cable outlets do it,too, but not like TVLand. Are there any cable outlets or local stations that don't?)
retrofan05 07-23-2010, 07:43 PM I don't like it. It takes away from the show, especially shows that have extensive ending credits with a theme song.
Rezny@gmail.com 07-23-2010, 08:19 PM As for me,I DISLIKE it immensely.THAT'S why I watch "Bewitched" on WGN and "Home Improvement"on TBS-At least on those 2 shows, neither WGN nor TBS scrunch the credits on those shows the way TVLand does.Question:TVLand USED to air the shows they aired late at night-early morning with full-screen closing credits.Do they still do it?
treky 07-23-2010, 10:39 PM I can't stand it!!!!   That's one reason I don't watch them anymore!!
But at least they don't cut them out completly like BBC AMERICA does with "STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION"

we have a local station that shows "GET SMART" & "HAWAII FIVE-O" and they don't do it with those shows. Also, TBS doesn't do it with "FRIENDS" and "SIENFELD", CW doesn't do it with "THE KING OF QUEENS", "EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND", "SOUTH PARK", THAT 70s SHOW", "FRASIER", and "STAR TREK; THE NEXT GENERATION". And TBS and ION don't do it with "MY NAME IS EARL" and ION doesn't do it with "MASH", also ABC FAMILY doesn't do it with "THAT 70s SHOW" and FOX doen't do it with "SIENFELD" and reruns of "THE SIMPSONS", MY NETWORK TV doesn't do it with "TWO AND A HALF MEN" and "FAMILY GUY"

Rezny@gmail.com 07-23-2010, 11:24 PM And the closing credits in tact as well.

Marvo301 07-24-2010, 12:37 AM I hate when they scrunch the credits. It makes them impossible to read. And I'm always trying to glean some information from the closing credits like the name of a guest star. With the scrunched credits it's impossible!
dakert 07-24-2010, 01:06 AM Why would anyone watch TVBLand. Fool me once shame on TVL, Fool me twice--shame on ME!
I'm used to it. It doesn't really bother me (it's not like you could read them before anyway).

GMC has become one of my favorite channels since I got it this year, I love Early Edition and Highway to Heaven and occasionally watch Cosby. The full screen credits at the end is a nice touch, and none of the stupid ed commercials air.

Eh, you could easily find the name of the episode and go online to look who guest starred in that episode.

If only I wasn't so darn lazy!
old grouch 07-25-2010, 12:16 AM I think that the people who worked on these shows, whether they were a special guest star or moved props around, worked hard at their craft and should get proper respect. I think it's shameful that TV Land disrespects them just so they can squeeze in another set of commercials. Thank goodness for DVDs.
dakert 07-25-2010, 12:26 AM Thank Goodness for IMDB :happyface I have looked up so many actors/actresses. I usually have a pen and paper handy when the credits roll on the DVDs

I always pause the DVD when the credits roll to make sure I can get the names of the guest stars!
rainrotoka 07-29-2010, 06:05 AM I like to watch TV and Movies. I dislike, When I have suffered with bad cold.
SpenceOlchin 07-29-2010, 07:41 PM Dislike. I like to see the names of the people involved.

:yeahthat
There was a time when I never even thought about ending credits on tv shows/movies, but now that it's such a rare thing to see these days, I do miss 'em! Do we really have to see all those commercials you just showed throughout the tv show/movie? Again? During the credits? I hate 'em.
