July 22, 1965: "Till Death Us Do Part" debuted on England’s BBC-TV
The rest as they say became TV history for BOTH the United Kingdom & US! ;)

I've never seen this show, is it good? Would it be hard to get into after being raised on All in the Family?

HelloLarry, it's quite different to AITF, where AITF has a lot of bouncing-off between the characters, a lot of Til Death Us Do Part was just Alf ranting about how much he hates certain things, which on its own does not constitute good comedy.
Only recommended for die-hard AITF fans in my opinion.

Actually, it really hearkens back to a very old English comedy tradition, rooted in the London theater. A very dialogue-driven style. As Americans in general have a very, very short span of attention, it wouldn't work on them. But then, the same people can't deal with Woody Allen, either.
The more I watch the show, the more I love it, with each viewing, it seems more and more is revealed. The series was a genuine masterpiece...and stands quite unique among all British sitcoms, in style, and wit.
