Alan Oppenheimer, John Getz (six), Paulina Porizkova, Olivia Newton-John, Pat Summerall, Kathy Griffin (twice), Thomas Calabro, John O'Hurley, Jason Bateman, Alex Trebek (twice), Christopher Hewitt, Marcia Cross (four), Megan Mullally, Rick Overton, Lloyd Bridges, and also L.L. Cool J.
Camile_2000 02-28-2002, 01:42 PM Hi, I edit the Ned and Stacey guide at TV Tome (tvtome.com). I was never able to find any evidence that LL Cool J was really on the show as a guest star. When I was collecting data for the ep. guide, I saw that both the IMDb (imdb.com) and epguides.com had an ep. listed with him and several others as guest stars, but it was erroneous. Epguides corrected it eventually, but the IMDb still lists the name (with no episode title). I saw all the shows several times when they were broadcast on the USA Network, and there was never any trace of LL or the others. Unless...there's a "lost episode!"
Also, I have no doubt that John O'Hurley's voice was used on the show, but I don't think it was really him in the flesh. He was only in one brief shot, and they only showed him from behind, so his face wasn't visible. His role on the show was so small that I think what happened is that he was scheduled to be a guest star, but he had to drop out for some reason, so they rewote the script, used a recording of his voice and got a stand-in for his one scene. If you ever see the ep. again, watch it and see if you don't agree. (O'Hurley was Elaine's boss on Seinfeld , in case you don't remember.)
I love N&S and I would really love to see it back on the air again soon. To me it is one of TV's unrecognized classics.
hampdogg 03-16-2002, 11:43 PM Because I went to IMDB.com for all my info, you are probably right about LL Cool J. You seem to be a dedicated N&S fan so I know you know what you're talking about. I only periodically watch it in syndication.
Camile_2000 03-17-2002, 06:56 AM Ned and Stacey isn't currently on the air anywhere, is it?
Jordan 03-17-2002, 03:44 PM Unfortunately, it is no longer airing in syndication. It's too bad because this was a great, funny show. But at least Debra Messing is in a huge hit sitcom ("Will & Grace"). She better win an Emmy soon, everyone else in "Will & Grace" has! :happyface :happyface :happyface
Camile_2000 03-17-2002, 09:33 PM I keep hoping it will be rebroadcast by USA Network, but so far, no luck. I truly think that Ned and Stacey is one of the greatest and most unappreciated sitcoms of all time, even though it was only on two seasons.

I definitely agree. This was one of those rare shows where you laughed hard constantly, not like many other sitcoms. I'd love for "Ned and Stacey" to return -- as long as it doesn't mean taking "Veronica's Closet" off the air. :happyface :happyface :happyface
AngeFaitore 09-30-2002, 06:46 PM I've seen every episode of N&S and I never recall LL Cool J on there.
Maybe it was thought of, but never created.
