I hear CBS has picked the replacement for departing daytime soap As the World Turns: a daily panel talk show hosted by Sara Gilbert, on whose idea the show is based, Julie Chen, Holly Robinson Peete, Sharon Osbourne and Leah Remini that focuses on topical events through the eyes of moms. The pilot, executive produced by Tom Forman (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition), John Redmann (The Tyra Banks Show) and Gilbert, was one of several CBS ordered for the ATWT timeslot, along with a Pyramid reboot hosted by Andy Richter and a cooking game show starring Emeril Lagasse. But I hear the View-type female-oriented talk show screened very well at the network and had been the clear frontrunner. I hear eyes a tentative October launch, a pretty ambitious plan for mounting a new daily show with only 8 weeks of prep time. ATWT is slated to bow out in September after a 54-year run. The talk show will be filmed in Los Angeles where Chen also co-hosts CBS’ Early Show year-round as well as the network’s reality series Big Brother in the summer.

Like Julie Chen actually had to audition. So now Chenbot has three shows on the network that her husband is in charge of. Whoop-de-do  And we get another talk show in daytime TV - guess there aren't enough of those.

Yes,I agree.I had so hoped that the reboot of "Pyramid"would have been the choice to replace "As The World Turns",but I guess that the choice of "I hear",they made was up to CBS daytime programming.Another reason I'd rather work-or do anything else-nowadays,other than to watch daytime TV.

it makes you wonder if cbs finally gives up and moves TPIR from its iconic 11 AM air time, and airs it in the afternoon in the ATWT timeslot to try to push the ratings up, that would let them put their stupid little talk show here up against the view and try to knock them out.. which is why they didnt announce a start date or air time for the show..

"Hey, let's take off this historic TV show that has been running successfully for decades and replace it with a bunch of loud mouth women yelling at each other."

CBS will end up regretting this.

I couldn't agree more! All we needed was more loud, over the top, barely talanet women talking about how tough they day is,and all of that dreck! It figure they didn't want a game show, but since reboots of game shows haven't work out,I don't blame them, but at least give the time to the stations, then the can run their own grabage!
