Robert stack introduced this episode a few years back, this young athletic man was desperate to get to somewhere in a hurry but he was broke.

He went to an airfield and tried to hitch a lift and offered a leather jacket in payment- he was refused.

Later he easily vaulted over a 12ft high fence and grabbed on to the wing of a jet that was taking off and of course he was swept off at about 3000ft and killed.

Was any conclusion ever given as to why he would be so desperate to try such an impossible stunt?

He was schizophrenic. He was identified as Brian Stanley Duecker after eight years of being unidentified.

That was quick meg thanks, doesn't really explain why the urgency to get wherever he was heading, he could've thumbed a lift and got there in a couple of days. Sad story.

If he was delusional or experiencing hallucinations, the answer to that puzzle may never make sense. Who knows.
