Jennifer Love Hewitt has revealed that she might try her hand at a more comedic role if she returns to television.

The actress - who stars in Lifetime's new original movie The Client List - recently wrapped production on Ghost Whisperer after five seasons, and previously appeared in the long-running Party Of Five.

"Some of the TV stuff I'm looking at is comedy stuff, I think if I do something I would like to try something a little lighter and not a one-hour drama schedule," she told reporters.

"That's the most daunting part. My time on TV has been awesome, between Party Of Five and Ghost Whisperer I've been severely lucky in great long runs on TV series that were attached to the heart and got into the audiences' hearts."

She added: "I definitely am not in a rush to move back into TV right away and if I do it will probably be under different circumstances. I don't think I'll be crossing people over!"

The Client List - which revolves around a recently laid-off mother who falls into prostitution in a bid to provide for her family - premieres Monday July 19 at 9/8c on Lifetime.

EXCLUSIVE: Ok, this is not a Ghost Whisperer revival but probably the next best thing for the die-hard fans of the cancelled CBS drama - a possible new series with Ghost Whisperer star Jennifer Love Hewitt. I hear Fox is in talks to pick up the project, a half-hour comedy described as a female Big Bang Theory. Wild Hogs director Walt Becker will be writing the script with Hewitt attached to star. The project would reunite Hewitt with Fox where she got her break as co-star on Party of Five.

Becker, a feature writer-director whose credits also include Van Wilder and the Wild Hogs sequel Wild Dogs, is a relative newcomer to TV but scored big this spring with the period fraternity comedy pilot Glory Daze, which he directed and co-wrote with Michael LeSieur. TBS picked it up to series, which is slated to premiere later this year. Meanwhile, Hewitt most recently displayed her comedy chops in a memorable guest stint on the pilot for NBC's upcoming hourlong comedy series Love Bites.
