Yeah crows can be annoying. But they and other birds such as buzzards are necessary to the environment as they clean up the road kill. Now, when I was growing up in the 50's there were very few crows , hawks and buzzards because they were being wiped out by DDT. DDT made their eggs soft and they were rapidly diminishing. So when I see a crow today I am thankful that those species weren't eliminated altogether. History lesson over!

We have a small wood behind our house, and we have a lot of birchtrees in our backyard, so yeah, we have a lot of birds too. And since we don't live that far away from the coast either, we've got a lot of seaguls as well. And since I live at the same latitude as you do, the sun rises 4:00 AM over here too in the summer, making all birds start making noises that early. Crows and magpies are the most annoying ones, of course, but even the little songbirds, who you would enjoy listening to during the day, can be very annoying, when you want to sleep. Birds also have an annoying tendency to poop wherever they like, like on cars, no matter how disgusting it is. My brother some times theatens to shoot birds with a rifle, but we've stopped him for doing that so far.
