WABC is reporting that Yankees owner George Steinbrenner has died after a heart attack in Florida. George just turned 80 on July 4.

Sorry to hear this. He was a real a mover and a shaker and contributed much to baseball - RIP George.

That's so sad. I don't consider 80 that old. George will be remembered as a Legend. He was tough on his team, but he got results as his teams respected him. I still LMAO when I see George being portrayed on Seinfeld. That was hilarious, I'm guessing he got a kick out of it too or he would have been all over them.

That's the same way I feel. Loved all the times "Mr. Steinbrenner" was on Seinfeld. I saw on the news a touching tribute held in George's memory at Yankee Stadium last night. One of the players laid a bouquet of flowers on home plate while the crowd stood for a moment of silence. Very classy.

He was a great owner and a great man he and Mr. Sheppard will be missed. :rip:
