Oh well, hope you have a nice time in heaven George. OH Nuts! 07-13-2010, 03:08 PM Sorry to hear this. He was a real a mover and a shaker and contributed much to baseball - RIP George. Janice 07-13-2010, 09:57 PM That's so sad. I don't consider 80 that old. George will be remembered as a Legend. He was tough on his team, but he got results as his teams respected him. I still LMAO when I see George being portrayed on Seinfeld. That was hilarious, I'm guessing he got a kick out of it too or he would have been all over them. Family Ties Forever! 07-13-2010, 11:29 PM RIP Brian Damage 07-17-2010, 12:14 AM I admit, growing up a Yankees fan in the 80's I use to hate the guy. Later on I realized everything he did or tried to do was for the fans. He was without a doubt the greatest owner in sports. catlover79 07-17-2010, 02:17 PM That's so sad. I still LMAO when I see George being portrayed on Seinfeld. That was hilarious, I'm guessing he got a kick out of it too or he would have been all over them. That's the same way I feel. Loved all the times "Mr. Steinbrenner" was on Seinfeld. I saw on the news a touching tribute held in George's memory at Yankee Stadium last night. One of the players laid a bouquet of flowers on home plate while the crowd stood for a moment of silence. Very classy. SueAnn_Rose 07-17-2010, 08:33 PM He was a great owner and a great man he and Mr. Sheppard will be missed. :rip: |
