Audra's character, Aunt Liz, was a rich shrew of a widow determined to destroy the relationship of her son Bill and his true love, Missy, who was poor and illegitimate.

Audra looks very pretty wearing something besides a curly wig and mumu. But her character looks like a bit of a troublemaker.

I didn't know Helen Roper came from the soap opera world!! It would be interesting to see footage of her from Another World.

The one that really blew me away though was Don Knotts, on a daytime serial!

Yep - she was the mother-in-law from you know where!! However, after Audra left AW to try her luck in Hollywood - the character softened somewhat when Irene Dailey was cast in 1974. It worked - as Ms. Dailey won an Emmy for the role in 1979.

Audra and Don weren't the only TC cast members to be regulars on a soap. Jordan Charney (Mr. Angelo) and Ann Wedgeworth (Lana) played husband and wife on AW!! :cool:

Jordan Charney played delinquent turned lawyer Sam Lucas from 1967-70, and again briefly in 1974. Ann Wedgeworth played Sam's wife, Lahoma Vane Lucas, from 1967-70. Audra Lindley also appeared on the show at the same time, as she was on AW from 1964-69.
