View Full Version : The Complete Seven Season on its way! Ron Ron 07-07-2010, 07:41 PM http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Mary-Tyler-Moore-Season-7/14030 This will complete my MTM collection. Benno123 07-07-2010, 07:59 PM I was just going to post this! Best news all year!!! And the curtain call on the last episode is said to be included as well! Ron Ron 07-07-2010, 08:04 PM Can't wait for it to come out! McGillicuddy 07-07-2010, 08:16 PM Yeah! I was thrilled that they announced the "final curtain call" , and its included at Fans' request. (I'm one of those fans!!) Now my next dilema: Do I wait for the series box set, (that who knows if or when will come out ) or do I break down and buy this? catlover79 07-07-2010, 09:36 PM WOOHOO!!!!! party: :bouncers :jig: ClassicTVGal 07-07-2010, 10:10 PM AWESOME NEWS!!! I can't *wait* to tell my niece (one of them) who loves MTM!! ;) And who has been here visiting for a few days, but is somewhere else now, I need to text her!! lol I was JUST thinking about this today even BEFORE I heard the fantastic news, LOL. How ironic! Kristen 07-07-2010, 10:41 PM Part-y, part-y! hehe. This news was completely unexepected, and the curtain call is more than I really thought we'd get. I know I said I wanted it, but I didn't think Fox would actually listen, LOL! Marvo301 07-07-2010, 11:12 PM Yeah! I was thrilled that they announced the "final curtain call" , and its included at Fans' request. (I'm one of those fans!!) Now my next dilema: Do I wait for the series box set, (that who knows if or when will come out ) or do I break down and buy this? I find myself in the same dilemma. I also worry that if I wait for the complete series maybe the curtain call won't be included on that release. PGood97041 07-08-2010, 02:12 AM Isn't this fantastic news!!!! I still have a hard time fathoming how it took so long, but as long as the best sitcom ever, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, is finally all out on DVD so we can all watch the eps in high quality whenever we want, I'm over the moon!!!! Patience is a virtue, kids, and we've just been rewarded!!!! Leigh Ann 07-08-2010, 08:46 AM This is the best news we've gotten in a long time! And to think it happened on 7/7!! I can't wait to see some of these eps, and the curtain call! :D  :woohoo: party: Family Ties Forever! 07-09-2010, 01:45 AM Cool. :) I've never seen the 7th season episodes so now I will get to. :) http://www.tvshowsondvd.net/graphics/news3/MaryTylerMooreShow_S7.jpg scotsguy 07-09-2010, 03:21 AM I've just read this on my birthday, great present! The only season7 episodes I've seen are the last episode and Mary dating Lou,looking forward to this! Kristen 07-09-2010, 03:22 AM Season 7 has a lot of really good episodes, so you've got plenty to look forward to! The cover art is wonderful, but I am a bit disappointed that they didn't go with a cast pic instead of just Mary. I know that's what they've done for the other seasons, but still. scotsguy 07-09-2010, 07:35 AM Kristen,I thought they might have gone for Mary looking at the newsroom for the last time, maybe that was too downbeat or all the cast huddled togethor from the last episode. Lets get pushing for a Phyllis release now! Great news though,season7 of MTM on DVD at last! Leigh Ann 07-09-2010, 09:00 AM I've just read this on my birthday, great present! The only season7 episodes I've seen are the last episode and Mary dating Lou,looking forward to this! Happy Birthday! :) I'm looking forward to "Lou Dates Mary" too and others that I haven't seen in years. I hope October comes quickly!! catlover79 07-09-2010, 12:05 PM Cool. :) I've never seen the 7th season episodes so now I will get to. :) http://www.tvshowsondvd.net/graphics/news3/MaryTylerMooreShow_S7.jpg Great cover art - I love it!! :D scotsguy 07-09-2010, 02:24 PM Happy Birthday! :) I'm looking forward to "Lou Dates Mary" too and others that I haven't seen in years. I hope October comes quickly!! Thanks Leigh-Ann its been a good week for fans of Mary Richards! Benno123 07-09-2010, 03:10 PM Cool. :) I've never seen the 7th season episodes so now I will get to. :) You are in for a real treat! I think some of the best episodes of the entire series are in the 7th season. From Lou and Mary's date, to Sue Ann's bed and all shows inbetween, MTM was like fine wine and only improved with age. While most shows just barely stay alive in the 7th season, I think the series hit its prime in its final year. By the way, I like the cover art and all, but I was also hoping for that picture of Mary looking out of the WJM door one final time. There's still time, perhaps the art is not final at this point? McGillicuddy 07-09-2010, 05:00 PM Kind of strange that in all 7 season set covers, Mary is pictured solo, except for season 2 which also features Lou Grant and Rhoda. The rest of the cast (Ted, Murray, SueAnn, Georgette and Phyllis) never got to appear. Kristen 07-10-2010, 12:46 AM You are in for a real treat! While most shows just barely stay alive in the 7th season, I think the series hit its prime in its final year. Was going to post and say that (in different words of course, LOL). But yeah, what he said. ;) Season 7 has a lot of my favorite episodes. I really think the writers and actors all knew the characters inside and out by then. I can't wait to hear some of the fan reactions to seeing these for the first time! - Kristen Larry Surrell 07-10-2010, 06:43 PM Kind of strange that in all 7 season set covers, Mary is pictured solo, except for season 2 which also features Lou Grant and Rhoda. The rest of the cast (Ted, Murray, SueAnn, Georgette and Phyllis) never got to appear. Poor Murray; first he never wins a Teddy award, then he writes a great article about freedom of the press and has to stand back and watch Ted get all the credit, now he doesn't get his picture on the cover of any MTM DVD! McGillicuddy 07-11-2010, 01:22 AM Poor Murray; first he never wins a Teddy award, then he writes a great article about freedom of the press and has to stand back and watch Ted get all the credit, now he doesn't get his picture on the cover of any MTM DVD! ....and don't forget, all the characters full names are in the closing credits, except Murray. (Gavin MacLeod as Murray) He's always getting short-changed! Marvo301 07-11-2010, 01:26 AM ....and don't forget, all the characters full names are in the closing credits, except Murray. (Gavin MacLeod as Murray) He's always getting short-changed! And Gavin McLeod got short changed too being the only main cast member not to win an Emmy during the show's run! likewow 07-12-2010, 06:52 PM It really warmed my heart to see this, and I smiled from ear to ear when I read that the fans' request of the final curtain call would be included! :D McGillicuddy 07-12-2010, 07:55 PM And Gavin McLeod got short changed too being the only main cast member not to win an Emmy during the show's run! But at least he got to be the Captain of The Love Boat. LittleRickyII 08-22-2010, 02:07 PM You are in for a real treat! I think some of the best episodes of the entire series are in the 7th season. The seventh season is my favorite. catlover79 09-03-2010, 01:44 AM I can't wait for S7!! Only another month to go!! :D Kristen 09-03-2010, 01:47 PM Same here, Monika! I'm sure you'll all be surprised to know I pre-ordered a copy at Amazon as soon as it was available. ;) catlover79 09-03-2010, 01:49 PM Same here, Monika! I'm sure you'll all be surprised to know I pre-ordered a copy at Amazon as soon as it was available. ;) Shocked. ;) ClassicTVGal 09-12-2010, 07:54 PM Yes, I was hoping they would use an image from her looking back into the newsroom, too. Oh well... LOL. But the curtain call, that ROCKS! Yeah, and it REALLY hurt Gavin, too. I *can't* believe he never won OR was even nominated!! He's one of my FAVORITE characters and funniest -- it's sad, and stupid! (in a sense) zypherix 09-25-2010, 03:24 PM Ooh it's really on its way now. Got an email that the preorders were sent out =) ClassicTVGal 09-25-2010, 07:42 PM I have not gotten an E-mail. And says (on the site) mine won't be sent out until the 5th. (Which *does* make sense, in its own way) But I *have* gotten pre-orders before they are supposed to be out, lol. zypherix 09-26-2010, 08:04 AM Some are just shipped very early :) been getting some DVDs as early as 2 weeks before releasedate. ClassicTVGal 09-26-2010, 02:15 PM Some are just shipped very early :) been getting some DVDs as early as 2 weeks before releasedate. That's cool. :) zypherix 10-01-2010, 09:52 AM Got it today :) checking runtimes now.. The episodes are all running about 25:30.. but on the sadder news, despite it being advertised on the back of the DVD set I cant seem to locate the curtain call! the final episode is presented with the regular end credits!!! PGood97041 10-01-2010, 08:54 PM i hate to be a cynic, but could they have kept it off because they knew they'd need extras for a complete boxed set? still, while i would have liked to have seen it, i'm just happy i'm going to have S7 in my hands soon McGillicuddy 10-01-2010, 09:09 PM Got it today :) checking runtimes now..
