I was just going to post this! Best news all year!!! And the curtain call on the last episode is said to be included as well!

Now my next dilema: Do I wait for the series box set, (that who knows if or when will come out ) or do I break down and buy this?

I still have a hard time fathoming how it took so long, but as long as the best sitcom ever, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, is finally all out on DVD so we can all watch the eps in high quality whenever we want, I'm over the moon!!!!

Season 7 has a lot of really good episodes, so you've got plenty to look forward to! The cover art is wonderful, but I am a bit disappointed that they didn't go with a cast pic instead of just Mary. I know that's what they've done for the other seasons, but still.

Kristen,I thought they might have gone for Mary looking at the newsroom for the last time,maybe that was too downbeat or all the cast huddled togethor from the last episode.

Lets get pushing for a Phyllis release now!

You are in for a real treat! I think some of the best episodes of the entire series are in the 7th season. From Lou and Mary's date, to Sue Ann's bed and all shows inbetween, MTM was like fine wine and only improved with age. While most shows just barely stay alive in the 7th season, I think the series hit its prime in its final year.

By the way, I like the cover art and all, but I was also hoping for that picture of Mary looking out of the WJM door one final time. There's still time, perhaps the art is not final at this point?

While most shows just barely stay alive in the 7th season, I think the series hit its prime in its final year.


Was going to post and say that (in different words of course, LOL). But yeah, what he said. ;) Season 7 has a lot of my favorite episodes. I really think the writers and actors all knew the characters inside and out by then. I can't wait to hear some of the fan reactions to seeing these for the first time!

Poor Murray; first he never wins a Teddy award, then he writes a great article about freedom of the press and has to stand back and watch Ted get all the credit, now he doesn't get his picture on the cover of any MTM DVD! :lol:

And Gavin McLeod got short changed too being the only main cast member not to win an Emmy during the show's run!

It really warmed my heart to see this, and I smiled from ear to ear when I read that the fans' request of the final curtain call would be included! :D

I SO agree. The seventh season is my favorite.

Yeah, and it REALLY hurt Gavin, too. I *can't* believe he never won OR was even nominated!! He's one of my FAVORITE characters and funniest -- it's sad, and stupid! (in a sense)

i hate to be a cynic, but could they have kept it off because they knew they'd need extras for a complete boxed set?

still, while i would have liked to have seen it, i'm just happy i'm going to have S7 in my hands soon

I pre-ordered my set from Amazon but they haven't posted it yet,only seen two episodes of season7 the last episode and Mary dating Lou.

Will then buy Rhoda season4,I understand the last episode of Rhoda on season4 is missing a few seconds,thankful yet again,I've kept my old vhs recordings.

I just got my Season 7 Set yesterday, and as soon as I opened it up, I put in the disc with "The Last Show" on it. When I saw the curtain call, i was doing the happy dance in my apartment! OH, Praise God, Another show I own is Complete on DVD.

My complete sets are:

and now
Mary Tyler Moore.
