Who's worse, Larry Mondello or Eddie Haskell?

View Full Version : Larry Mondello or Eddie Haskell McGillicuddy 07-07-2010, 05:25 PM Who's worse, Larry Mondello or Eddie Haskell? Marvo301 07-07-2010, 05:32 PM I would say Eddie. It seems like when Eddie does something mean he's thought about it and knows exactly what he's doing. When Larry does something bad or gets Beaver in trouble it's because he hasn't thought things through or considered the consequences of his actions. Also when Larry does something bad he usually feels bad about it (not always bad enough to confess though!) whereas Eddie usually seems to have little or no conscience. MickeyMac 07-07-2010, 05:47 PM I too have to go for Eddie, he was an all around troublemaker. catlover79 07-07-2010, 09:38 PM Eddie - hands down!!! howilu 07-08-2010, 10:54 AM Definitely Eddie. He was always a two-faced troublemaker. old grouch 07-08-2010, 01:03 PM Another vote for Eddie. Hughsgirl 07-08-2010, 01:34 PM I would have to agree that Eddie is worse....but somehow funny! LOL! catlover79 07-08-2010, 03:39 PM I would have to agree that Eddie is worse....but somehow funny! LOL! Oh yes - he was one of the best brown nosers in the history of TV. bluthree 07-09-2010, 08:03 AM Eddie of course. You just knew every time when Eddie came walking into the The Cleaver's house that All Hell was going to break loose. If I was The Beaver I would of hid somewhere when every Eddie came by. catlover79 07-09-2010, 11:54 AM One thing's for sure - things were never boring once Eddie showed up!! I'm surprised Eddie never went into politics as an adult.  bluthree 07-09-2010, 03:46 PM One thing's for sure - things were never boring once Eddie showed up!! I'm surprised Eddie never went into politics as an adult.  Yeah Eddie never was boring.I always did like when he became sweet and charming to Mr and Mrs.Cleaver. "Gush Mrs.Cleaver, that sure is a pretty dress you are wearing." Hughsgirl 07-10-2010, 10:31 AM Yeah Eddie never was boring.I always did like when he became sweet and charming to Mr and Mrs.Cleaver. "Gush Mrs.Cleaver, that sure is a pretty dress you are wearing." Yeah I swear Eddie was always hitting on June. He's lucky Ward didn't blacken one of his eyes for it! I say he was hitting on her because of the tone of voice he used when "complimenting" her. My husband made that comment to me and I think he had a point. catlover79 07-10-2010, 03:16 PM "My, Mrs. Cleaver, you sure look lovely today." :D HHorseman 07-24-2010, 06:14 PM Gilbert Bates was pretty slippery,Eddie had the better wit though. 1960'sTVfan 07-24-2010, 09:45 PM I've always thought Eddie could have been spun off to his own sitcom, the character was that funny. Sometimes the Leave It To Beaver writers wanted to show Eddie had a vulnerable side, like the episode where Eddie gets scared riding the roller coaster or the one where Eddie spends the night at the Cleavers because his folks are away and he's afraid to be at home alone. But Eddie is at is best when he's mischievious, the episodes he's featured in are some of the funniest in the series. Without Eddie, Leave It To Beaver would have had something missing, the show wouldn't have been as good without him that's for sure. catlover79 07-25-2010, 12:47 AM Wally, Eddie and Lumpy seemed to blend in with regular teenagers of the time - and even now! I mean, name any school, past or present, that doesn't have the All-American good boy, the dumb jock, and the slimy weasel. Of course, who can forget when Wally and Eddie tampered with the chassis on Lumpy's car?  MickeyMac 07-25-2010, 02:35 PM Wally, Eddie and Lumpy seemed to blend in with regular teenagers of the time - and even now! Exactly - and vice versa!!! :D Torgo 07-27-2010, 05:24 PM Exactly - and vice versa!!! :D Definitely....always love it when June and Ward talk about Eddie right after he just left the room:lol: OH Nuts! 07-28-2010, 05:12 PM Oh Eddie definitely wins the sleaziod contest hands down although Larry's a pretty nifty little double-crosser too. But oooooh that Eddie, he opens his mouth and a field gets fertilized! And I always liked when Ward & June talked abt Eddie, & thought it was so cool they got how full of sh*t he was in a nannosecond. alliesw 07-23-2011, 01:50 PM I agree with most of you guys. Eddie went out of his way to cause trouble and be mean. Larry was just, Larry. Easy going, chicken, and as in my opinion, a great actor. I wonder why his family moved away and removed him from the show. He was one of my favorite characters! MickeyMac 07-24-2011, 01:12 PM I agree with most of you guys. The reason Larry left the show was his mother was a "stage mother" and though he should have gotten everything Jerry Mathers got and then some. alliesw 07-24-2011, 04:49 PM The reason Larry left the show was his mother was a "stage mother" and though he should have gotten everything Jerry Mathers got and then some. That's too bad. I wonder if it impacted his life either way? good or bad? McGillicuddy 07-24-2011, 07:36 PM The reason Larry left the show was his mother was a "stage mother" and though he should have gotten everything Jerry Mathers got and then some. I never heard anything about Rusty Stevens mother being a "stage-mother"! I always understood that it was because Rusty's family moved back east that he wasn't able to continue on as Larry. I don't think anybody in his family were concerned about an acting career. |
