Hey everyone,

I was wondering what the air date was of the final UM episode, and if anyone knows where I could watch it online.

I wanted to see if Bob Stack made special mention or a thank-you to the viewers... Although, I don't remember if Stack's death ended the run or if the show was discontinued before he died. If the latter, I'm sure he said something in the final episode. If the former, he obviously didn't...

Anyways, where can I watch it?

The last original episode aired in September 2002. It featured a first-run segment on the disappearances of Ashley Pond and Miranda Gaddis. But there was nothing in the broadcast to indicate that it was going to be the final episode. There was never any official word on whether Lifetime would commission another season. My guess is that the network and Cosgrove/Meurer wanted to wait and see how Robert Stack's cancer treatment went before finalizing a decision. And needless to say, when Robert Stack died, the show permanently - albeit quietly - ceased production.

Well, that was easier said than done since no one knew that Stack would pass away within a year, or that UM was going to cease production. In any case, Cosgrove/Meurer were probably unprepared to shut the door on the series.
