The spacious home, formerly owned by Elizabeth Montgomery, features a great room that opens to a view of the lake.

Actor Craig Sheffer has listed his home on Malibou Lake in the Agoura Hills area at $1,699,000.
Formerly owned by actress Elizabeth Montgomery, the home is bewitching: A stone wall and fountain lead to the house, which sits on more than half an acre behind gates. A great room with a fireplace opens to a view of the lake, the dining room has a copper antique stove and intricate weathered iron work, and built-ins and chandeliers are installed throughout the 2,600-square-foot house. The master bedroom suite has a balcony, and a partially enclosed patio contains a bar. An adjacent Moroccan-style conversational area centers on a fireplace. There are four bedrooms, one used as a media room, and two bathrooms.
The backyard, which faces the lake, has two covered cabanas, a grotto-style spa with a waterfall, a boat dock and a detached storage building or office.
Sheffer, 50, was a regular on the TV drama "One Tree Hill" from 2003 to 2008. He starred in "Hellraiser: Inferno" (2000) and "A River Runs Through It" (1992).
Montgomery, who died in 1995 at age 62, starred as a wife with magical powers in the sitcom "Bewitched" (1964-1972).
The listing agents are Sharon Berman and Gary Paller of Dilbeck Realtors, Westlake Village.
MickeyMac 07-03-2010, 01:37 PM Looks like a nice place, but its too close to the water for me.
catlover79 07-03-2010, 02:13 PM Plu, it's way out of my price range.
Big3sCompanyFan 07-03-2010, 09:00 PM WOW...what a beautiful home!
Anyone have any pics of Elizabeth when she was in that home?
Larry Tate 07-03-2010, 10:01 PM This is not the house that Liz & Bill Asher leased in early 1965 & bought within that year.
It was built by Howard Hawks the legendary director in 1932 & is over 8,000 sq.feet.
My guess is that this other house that is about a quarter the size of Liz's is in error as realter's tend to exaggerate celebrity connections to hype cache, rather it is in error in this case i believe.
It could be a house Liz & her second husband Gig Young once owned as they did have a spanish style house but i doubt it.

Zoneboy 07-03-2010, 10:35 PM ^^ To quote Joe Walsh:
I have a mansion, forget the price
Ain't never been there they tell me it's nice.
Meaning that Liz could've owned the house but never actually lived in it. Finding out if she did in fact own the house at one time should be simple to prove and I doubt if realtors would claim a celebrity once owned a home just to try to make a sale, there should be some legalities against that.
catlover79 07-03-2010, 11:26 PM True, she could've just owned the property and rented it out. The article never says she actually lived there.
Larry Tate 07-04-2010, 02:34 AM Well as the Realtor said to her Pimp, why spoil the beauty of the thing with Legalities.
Realtors & the truth are an Oxymoron.
Nope,Nine,Nicht,Nadda...........not her house during the Bewitched & thereafter, could be but i do not think so.
She did lease a house in Hawaii but i seriously doubt she owned this one, just speculation as i see it unless proved otherwise.
If it is so easy to do so then so shall it be written so shall it be done & you won't even need a staff turned into a Cobra to do it.
Larry Tate :)

Maybe so but if Liz did in fact own the house in question then a record of it should be available at the Register of Deeds for that county.

Look at you contradicting your own self, you don't know anymore than I do whether she ever owned that house or not. From reading your posts on this board, I will admit that you are very knowledgeable about Liz but even the most proficient expert on Liz or anyone else cannot possibly know every detail about their lives. She may have owned this property and others as it certainly isn't uncommon for celebrities to invest in real estate.
Larry Tate 07-04-2010, 10:47 AM As Samantha said on many occasions.......... "Fine".............. let me know when you get back from the Register of Deeds for that county.
Saying you believe something is so when knowing for sure is not a contradiction, but rather an opinion.
Until shown otherwise i will believe this was not her house.
For the first year of Bewitched in 1964 Liz & Bill Asher lived in his house in Malibu but that was right on the beach not in the hills like this one.

Don't be a smart-aleck, I meant that anyone that was interested in the home could easily find out if she ever owned it.

Here it is in your own words:
Nope,Nine,Nicht,Nadda...........not her house during the Bewitched & thereafter, could be but i do not think so.
You first claim it isn't then before the sentence is complete you change your mind from could be then to I do not think so. If that's not contradicting one's self then I don't know what is. If they ever do a remake of "Green Acres" then I suggest you audition for the role of Hank Kimball, you would be perfect

Again, You have no idea if it was ever her house or not. As already stated it's very possible that she owned it but never lived in it. It could also have been used as vacation home or like Monika said, she may have rented it out. The article also doesn't state the time frame in which she allegedly owned the house.
Larry Tate 07-04-2010, 12:09 PM Someone needs a sense of humor transplant, don't take yourself so seriously i certainly do not, i was being funny yes, smart-aleck No.
In my own words i said i did not know for sure but that i did not think it was hers, that is not a contradiction but rather an unsubstantiated opinion.
As for Hank Kimball that is no way to talk about your Father, after all you are the Hat that is on his head. ;)
Now you may resent that but you also resemble that remark, his splitting image.
And if it is so easy then it is just as easy for you as anyone else to confirm or deny, in the meantime i will nether Don't ask nor Don't tell.
My whole point re the time frame is that it as i stated it might be from her Gigged out era but not from her Ashered era.
As Endora said to Darrin.................Oh i think i have an idea of what to do with my idea as to if she owned that house or not............................ :)

catlover79 07-04-2010, 03:19 PM All right, that's enough. Since it hasn't been proven one way or the other that she ever actually lived in the house, let's just move on.
