It just occurred to me that I can't think of any sitcoms that featured 4th of July episodes! Since the holiday occurs during the summer rerun season, I guess that makes sense.

Can anyone think of some to disprove my theory?

I think That 70's Show might have had a 4th of July episode. I do remember them having a veteran's day episode.

The only one I can think of is on Happy Days. When Ritchie was away in the army Joannie made a home movie of everything that happened over the summer including the Cunningham Family 4th of July BBQ. I believe this ep. aired as the first episode of the new season in September.

I think maybe Roseanne had a 4th of July episode, when they had large picnic in the backyard, and Nana (Shelley Winters) was there.

That was a Mother's Day episode.

I think "BARNEY MILLER" had an episode once that was set on the 4th of July, during the bicentenial in 1976.

Oops, no just remembered. It was set AROUND the 4th; not on the 4th.
I think I remember a "MASH" episode once that took place on the 4th, though. It was an episode after it became "The Alan Alda show".

Saved by the Bell had a 4th of July episode during the summer season where the characters worked at the beach resort.

There is an episode of the Bob Newhart Show where Bob and Emily get locked in the basement of their apartment building and Carol, Howard and Jerry are all dressed like Uncle Sam or something. Pretty funny.

One year Beverly Hills 90210 started its season in July instead of September so they could have summer episodes. They may have had a 4th of July episode.

Oh yeah, I remember thinking it was sort of a strange episode. Not one of my faves lol
