So if what happens in Vegas really stays in Vegas, then I would be very happy if that meant we'd never had to see another Hostel movie hit theaters, but alas Bloody-Disgusting reports that Hostel 3, which is moving the torture from Europe to neon lit Las Vegas, is gearing up to start production in August with Scott Spiegel directing from a screenplay by Michael Weiss. Of course Eli Roth is still producing the sequel which will see a bachelor party goes horribly wrong, not to mention a horror franchise, go terribly wrong. I really don't see why we need another one of these that isn't straight-to-DVD, although this probably won't hit theaters.
The first Hostel, released in 2005, made around $47 million while the second one dropped drastically in box office draw raking in only just over $17 million, so I'm not really sure why there's a big push for this one (or maybe there wasn't one and some producers are just making crazy decisions?) when sequels obviously aren't faring as well as they used to. Frankly, aside from never being a fan of horror franchises like this, these films have never seemed like anything more than a strange fetish for people who love seeing people pretend to be tortured brutally. But I guess enough people watch them
