We've all heard 'em. Countless times. The over-used lyric cliche's. What are some you've heard (ad nauseum)?

"Going nowhere fast"
"I wish I didn't know now things I didn't know then"--first used by Bob Seeger
and was copied by Poison.

"Like a dog without a bone" seems to have been used quite a bit too!

The "midnight train".

"Dead man walking" is an overused cliche in CCM (contemporary Christian music).

"Soar like an eagle"

highway in the sky
bed of roses
playin' to win
'til the end of time
you broke my heart
get down

Also, "shot through the heart" - Bon Jovi used it as the opening lyric for "You Give Love a Bad Name" two years after titling a song "Shot Through The Heart" - which had already been a title of a Jennifer Warnes song . . . a song I happen to like a lot. :)
