Following the painfully short but enthusiastically received “Gruesome Twosome” North American tour with Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie and his current band lineup have announced plans to return to the studio and record some brand new music, which Rob hopes to premiere by the end of the summer.

The new material is still shrouded in mystery, but we'll do our best to fill you in...

Rob's current live backing band is comprised of:

long-time guitarist John 5
bassist Piggy D
Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison

Joey, who's also currently working on a new Murderdolls album with Wednesday 13, joined Rob's touring crew this spring for the "Gruesome Twosome" tour and is apparently still onboard for more, including the unnamed studio project.

According to an update from Blabbermouth.com the Zombie team will enter the studio next week to begin recording what Rob declares to be “some of the fastest, heaviest tracks we have recorded in a long, long time.”

Details are sketchy right now, and there's no word as to whether the new music will be part of a full album, an EP or a series of one-offs, but Rob has suggested that the new tracks will be going live as early as September.
