I haven't watched The Simpsons in awhile. However, since the passing of Gary Coleman, the show had me thinking of the top five stars to appear on the series but not as themselves. (I left Phil Hartman off this list, as I always thought of him as part of the original cast.)

5. Rodney Dangerfield as Larry Burns -- Nothing better than Yale getting no respect, and the thought of New Haven getting a larger airport.


4. Jack Lemmon as Frank Ormond -- If Mr. Lemmon wants me to jump on the Pretzel Wagon, I'm in.

3. George Carlin at Munchie -- A successful organic juice company and a relaxed atmosphere on a green farm? Is this 2010? No, it's 1998.

2. Anne Bancroft as Dr. Zweig -- This one is great because it also was a reunion of sorts by the Cheers gang. All were in this episode with the exception of Kelsey Grammer.

1. Johnny Cash as Coyote -- Homer tripping on hot chili and meeting up with a wise coyote reminded me of why the Man in Black is still worshiped today
