View Full Version : Is NBC racist?
Impressions 06-26-2010, 01:43 PM Back in February, they celebrated Black History Month by serving fried chicken, among other things, in the NBC cafeteria. But now, after watching NBC, another sign of racism surfaces, just look at this picture:

I think these two bits were unintentional, but they're really starting to come off as racist...
browneyes106 06-26-2010, 03:33 PM I don't think the second pic is racist. NBC has been using the "more colorful" slogan in several promos for different shows.

What happened in February wasn't racist. A black chef decided to create a menu of soul food/comfort food; consisting of many items, including fried chicken. As for the promo in the link provided, only a racist or a race baiter would see that as racist.
cyberalias81 06-27-2010, 03:46 AM That menu does appear to reenforce racist stereotypes.
Family Ties Forever! 06-27-2010, 09:55 AM I disagree. They use that promo (with different celebrities) on it before every show. Of course from time to time there's going to be a picture of a black celebrity. I think some people are reading too much into it.
Let's get real here. If NBC was racist they wouldn't show anything that contained non-white individuals.
Mr. Television 06-27-2010, 10:00 AM Everything is racist anymore. It get's old fast.
MrCleveland 06-27-2010, 03:28 PM I didn't think it was malicious, like the time someone accidently mispelled Niger Innis' name.
Innis even said "It wasn't the first time that happened, but hopefully it would be the last".
MickeyMac 06-27-2010, 04:17 PM 1. Fried chicken I guess would be a dish served on a soul food menu.
2. White people eat fried chicken too.
3. Black people cooking and eating soul food is not racist, its a part of who we are.
I dont eat it all the time, but if soul food is cooked in the right hands it can be delious.
Also NBC is not racist, just crappy, but they have been that way for years.
catlover79 06-27-2010, 05:12 PM Mickey, did you know that NBC stands for Nothing But Crap?

Cactus Jack 06-27-2010, 10:01 PM When Adam Sandler was on one of the last Conan Tonight Shows he told this story about his agent calling NBC "Nothing But ****" ( hint its a really bad term for vagina), when he, Farley and others got fired from SNL

They were fired??? I never knew that. I thought they all chose to leave.

can someone really name 10 Tv shows from NBC during the 70's they enjoy watching? (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=145595&)
gidgetgrape 06-29-2010, 04:33 PM They should have shutdown after Brandon Tartikoff left. He was willing to take risks, be creative and diverse.

Brandon Tartikoff was a creative genius AND a family man - which made him the perfect choice to run NBC. Warren Littlefield's reign wasn't bad, but things just went down the toilet once Jeff Zucker took over. I will never, ever understand how he has held onto his job for so long - unless NBC is purposely trying to tank their ratings and write off the network for tax purposes!!!!

Sandler's agent should've told them "See You Next Tuesday"!

I wholeheartedly agree. Some people just like racial drama.
