The only show I know that fits this category is Mister Ed. Mister Ed premiered in first run syndication in January of 1961. It was picked up by CBS in the fall of 1961 where it stayed through the end of the 64-65 season. Does anyone know of any other shows that started in syndication and moved to network TV?

SCTV is the only other one that comes to mind. Its comprehensive broadcast history is really hard to track, but it was in first run syndication in the USA beginning in 1977 and picked up by NBC in the spring of 1981 where it stayed for two years before moving to Showtime cable.

yes,but when NBC picked it up; they expanded it to 90 minutes (it had been a half hour) and renamed it "SCTV NETWORK 90".
And in the US it was on Prism not Showtime.

Mm, the length may have changed but I don't know why that would disqualify it as an example. Just about every bit that ever aired in 30 minute form was eventually recycled into the 90 minute shows anyway!
Never heard of Prism. I had even heard of SPN (recall listings for it in TV Guide), but not Prism. Google -SCTV Prism- versus -SCTV Showtime- and see what happens.
