bliggenstrauff 06-23-2010, 04:10 PM Cool schedule, Nick at Nite manages to stay good and I'll enjoy the summer marathons when I can catch them
TVFactFan 06-23-2010, 07:01 PM Why the F*CK does the Nanny have TWO MARTHONS??? They could included the Cosby Show in one of the days.
I hate the f*cking stupid a$$ show.
icecream 06-23-2010, 08:07 PM I prefer The Nanny to the rest of the shows on Nick at Nite.
ashluh3286 06-25-2010, 02:47 AM I have to say, I like the whole summer marathon theme.
But this George Lopez marathon thing ALL week, is really making me start to dislike the show.

If you are a fan of the show why would a marathon make you dislike the show?
DSfan 06-25-2010, 09:02 PM Probably one of N@N's better summer lineups in recent memory!
I love Family Matters from 8-9 leading out of Nickelodeon. George Lopez still mans the 10pm hour for them and is doing well so nice to see that they aren't moving that around.
Best of all, the return of summer marathons! It is a N@N tradition and now it's back - amazing to see :)
I'm very interested to see if The Nanny will air on both N@N and TV Land come August. Home Improvement could maybe go back to N@N because it isn't really airing much on TV Land right now.
Question: When N@N used to have all the block party summer marathons in the past, what hour did they start at? Was it only one show everynight or was it 2? Trying to compare it to what they're doing now.

It started at 9pm and ended at 2am and it was one show every night.

So what aired from 2-6? Selected encore episodes of the same show?
TVFactFan 06-26-2010, 11:33 AM So what aired from 2-6? Selected encore episodes of the same show?
I can't remember because I mainly focused on the 9pm to 1am period since I had to be sleep by 2am. I think I only watched two marathons a week
Three's Company and the Cosby Show
JulieSomoski 06-26-2010, 10:11 PM From what I remember, when NAN used to do the Block Party Summers in the 2004-2007 era, the last before they switched over to Nickelodeon, I believe they would air marathons of their more popular series, like Fresh Prince, Roseanne, Cosby, etc. from 9pm-2am (later 10pm-2am, as Full House/Fresh Prince would air every night in the 9pm hour), and then the less popular series, like Who's the Boss?, A Different World, Murphy Brown, Mad About You, etc. from 2am-6am. At least that's what I remember.
In 2007, though, I believe they weeded out the less popular shows completely, and just started doing marathons of only Fresh Prince, Roseanne, etc. And now, of course, they only do one per night. It's been that way every since Nickelodeon took over.

Ok, but I was referring what I consider the 'real' Block Party Summers of 1998-2000 period. They didn't really call it Block Party Summer in 2004-07 - wasn't it like summer camp or something?
I was talking about when they had Lucy Tuesdays and Bewitched Be-Wednesdays etc....

You must be talking about 1998 or 1999 because since I have been living in this apt, (year of 2000), I have never seen Lucy Tuesdays or Bewitchwed Wednedays

Not sure if it was 1998-2000 (I'd assume it was), it was "Mary Mondays" (The Mary Tyler Moore Show), "Lucy Tuesdays" (I Love Lucy), "Bewitched Be-Wednesdays" (Bewitched), "Jeannie Thursdays" (I Dream of Jeannie), and "Sgt. Joe Fridays" (Dragnet). Not sure if that lasted one or two summers, but it was definitely at the end of the 90s.
benjamoon 06-27-2010, 10:25 PM Block Party Summer lasted under that title from 1994-2000, then it 2001 it became the "Un-Real-a-thon" and there have been various titles for the summer marathons ever since

Wow, good for you! Thanks for sharing with us. My memory was a bit wrong lol. But I do remember from 1997 onwards vaguely because I was still young at the time and it was sort of late. I only started watching Wonder Years two years ago after downloading all the episodes on the Internet and I'm pissed that I somehow didn't watch it on N@N, FOX Family, or TNN. (Whoa, funny how the channels change over this 10-12 year period. N@N has less vibrancy, FOX has become ABC Family and TNN turned into Spike so no more classics like Diff'rent Strokes or Three's Company. Taxi was on TNN as well I think in maybe 2000?
DSfan 06-27-2010, 11:14 PM Bit of a follow up question: Did they not have Dick Van Dyke as well at the same general time as they did Andy Griffith. I could've sworn they had Dick Van Dyke, Bob Newhart, and Mary Tyler Moore in marathons in the late 90s
benjamoon 06-27-2010, 11:43 PM Bit of a follow up question: Did they not have Dick Van Dyke as well at the same general time as they did Andy Griffith. I could've sworn they had Dick Van Dyke, Bob Newhart, and Mary Tyler Moore in marathons in the late 90s
Dick Van Dyke aired from 1991-2000 on N@N and moved to TV Land in Sep 2000, MTM aired from 1992-2000 on N@N and moved to TV Land in Jan 2001. Bob Newhart aired from 1993-1998 on N@N and I think moved to TV Land in late 1999 or early 2000
"Andy Griffith" only aired sporadically on N@N back when it was new on TV Land in 2000 so perhaps you remember overlapping marathons on TV Land from that time period?

Okay, thanks so all these shows did air until around 2000. It's probably just the little details that I may be mixing up.
I never had TV Land back then though, unfortunately.
Impressions 07-17-2010, 10:51 AM -Glenn Martin, DDS
Premiered Monday, August 17, 2009
Now airing Fridays at 10:30pm
Glenn Martin, DDS is the first television production to come out of Michael Eisner’s Tornante Animation Company. The original stop-motion animated series follows the life of Glenn Martin (Kevin Nealon), who yearns for a change of scenery and a deeper connection with his family. Determined to bring the family closer together, Glenn takes the Martins on a road trip to protest the destruction of a beloved childhood park. As things unravel right from the get-go, the family is forced to make the dental-mobile – replete with a giant decorative toothbrush on the roof – their new home. Glenn, Jackie (Catherine O’Hara) and Courtney (Jackie Clarke) – an 11-year-old future corporate maven who brings along her personal assistant, Wendy (Judy Greer), a 14-year-old North Korean exile – and son, Conor (Peter Oldring), the 13-year-old hormone-addled tween who’s not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed--quickly learn when hitting the road that the road can sometimes hit back in unexpected ways. The Martins are accompanied on their journey by the family dog, Canine, who’s pronounced buttocks only add to the hilarity.
July Premieres:
tbd
Have a list of July premieres for Glenn Martin D.D.S.? Was last night a new episode?
Pavan 07-17-2010, 11:44 AM As far as I know, Glenn Martin was a repeat last night. Here are the July premieres:
Friday, July 2 at 10:30pm – Premiere – Glenn Martin, DDS: Footlooseball
Description: Wendy becomes the quarterback of a Texas high school football team to impress Glenn while Conor uses his new found love for dancing to change the minds of the town elders (who have banned dancing).
Friday, July 9 at 10:30 pm – Episode Premiere– Glenn Martin; DDS: Jackie's Get-Witch-Quick Scheme
Episode Description: Jackie discovers that her ancestor was accused witchcraft and sets out to clear her name. But she changes her tune once she realizes she can gain Courtney’s respect by pretending to be a witch.
Friday, July 30 at 10:30pm – Premiere – Glenn Martin, DDS: Tooth Fairy
Description: A masseuse accidently turns off Glenn’s ability to feel pain; thinking he has superpowers, Glenn becomes the Tooth Fairy and fights crime with his sidekick, Conor.
Pavan 07-22-2010, 03:53 PM Bumper to Bumper marathons now are starting at 12am instead of 11pm. The Nanny is now on at 11pm-12am Mon-Fri (except Wed is George Lopez). And the Malcolm in the Middle Saturday bumper to bumper marathon is now removed and the line-up will be just as same as the Sunday line-up.
TVFactFan 07-22-2010, 08:39 PM F*CK N@N and THe NANNY
Stupid a$$ network want to air one f*cking show all week long. It don't make no mutherf*cking sense
I guess it's minor, but Nick at Nite will lose The Cosby Show (as well as TV Land) this September I guess.
ETA: to add to Julie's list of shows, I remember between 2004-2007 (2006 I think) they acquired NewsRadio and premiered it in the summer 2-6am marathon block. It didn't air much; I never thought it really got a fair shot. My memory may not be totally clear.

What do you mean one show? They have marathons of different shows weeknights from 12-6a.

Definitely 2006 - they added it in the summer marathon rotation, then aired at 5am I believe for a couple months in the fall. And that was the last we've seen of it. Such a pointless acquisition, but that was back when their latenight lineup, 3-6am, was all the abandoned shows, like Who's the Boss?, Mad About You, and Murphy Brown, so I guess it fit in a way.
The Cosby Show leaving both NAN and TV Land is somewhat surprising. It's been airing for a very long time. I can't believe they'd just simply give it up like that. I'm guessing, though, that My Wife and Kids will easily replace it, probably bumping The Nanny to latenight.

Unless I read it wrong I thought you were saying there will be a Nanny marathon everyday of the week except Wed and saturday.
Wed-George Lopez
Sat-Malcolm in the Middle
Pavan 07-23-2010, 10:39 AM You did read it wrong. The Nanny has been added to the 11pm hour on weeknights except on Wednesday. The marathons were 11pm-6am and are now going to be 12am-6am and Malcolm Saturday marathons are gone.
I thought I was clear?

I just wish that Family Matters or George Lopez can be on a friday or saturday instead of a work night
Any idea when August will be out? I'm interested to see if they do anything with The Nanny. My Wife and Kids doesn't start until September, so I guess they'll still have to air it pretty heavily?
I say move Home Improvement back to NAN.
Pavan 07-26-2010, 01:36 PM As of now, early August remains the same as now. But changes are coming towards the end of August, which I hope to get into this week. Not to mention The Cosby Show won't be available, since it is expiring.

More info to come.
I'm guessing Family Matters will move to 11pm-12am and replace The Nanny. The Nanny could stay for now and air overnights.
tbswatcher 07-27-2010, 06:46 PM Here's what I think Nick at Nite's fall schedule will be:
Monday- Friday
6:00am Family Matters
6:30am Family Matters
8:00pm My Wife and Kids
8:30pm My Wife and Kids
9:00pm Everybody Hates Chris
9:30pm Everybody Hates Chris
10:00pm George Lopez
10:30pm George Lopez (Glenn Martin, DDS on Fridays)
11:00pm Family Matters
11:30pm Family Matters
12:00am Malcolm in the Middle
12:30am Malcolm in the Middle
1:00am George Lopez
1:30am George Lopez
2:00am My Wife and Kids
2:30am My Wife and Kids
3:00am Everybody Hates Chris
3:30am Everybody Hates Chris
4:00am The Nanny
4:30am The Nanny
5:00am Malcolm in the Middle
5:30am Malcolm in the Middle

Yeah, that was EXACTLY what I was thinking as well. I'd be pretty surprised if The Nanny remained on N@N come fall.
While I'm not the biggest fan of My Wife & Kids, it's not a terrible show and paired with Everybody Hates Chris and leading out of Nickelodeon could get good numbers for N@N. What I hate is the fact that it still airs on ABC Family. Hopefully, it won't be a part of their fall schedule.
Family Matters hopefully goes to 11 to remain in a good timeslot. That should be the only change to the schedule unless TV Land sends over Home Improvement or Roseanne.
Get rid of Malcolm in the Middle! It's on a lot of locals and FX, who needs it?
What ever happened to Friends and That 70s Show coming to either N@N or TV Land though?
tbswatcher 07-28-2010, 01:26 PM Friends is coming to N@N Fall 2011. That 70's Show is coming to TV Land in 2011 sometime.
Nick@Nite 07-29-2010, 05:42 PM What I want:
New: Yes Dear, Step by Step, Just Shoot Me
Back on: Fresh Prince, The Cosby Show, Home Improvement
8:00 Everybody Hates Chris
9:00 My Wife and Kids
10:00 Yes, Dear
11:00 King of Queens
12:00 George Lopez
1:00 Malcolm In The Middle
2:00 The Nanny
3:00 Family Matters
4:00 Fresh Prince
5:00 The Cosby Show
6:00 Step by Step
7:00 Home Improvement
8:00 (Extend N@N two extra hours) Just Shoot Me
But now I'm turning it into to TBS. :p
I'd love Nick@Nite to be a seperate, all-day channel
Nick@Nite 07-29-2010, 05:49 PM Realistically:
8:00 Everybody Hates Chris
9:00 My Wife and Kids
10:00 George Lopez/Glenn Martin (Friday @ 10:30)
11:00 Family Matters
12:00 Malcolm In The Middle
1:00 Everybody Hates Chris
2:00 My Wife and Kids
3:00 George Lopez
4:00 Malcolm in the Middle
5:00 The Nanny
6:00 The Nanny
Why is The Nanny going to even be airing on Nick at Nite much after August 2nd? It is going to be airing on two networks at the same time!
TV Land is going to be running it from 11pm-2am next week in addition to other times. It needs to barely be airing on NAN, replace it with Malcolm in the Middle or Home Improvement. How do they expect anybody to watch it on TV Land when they can watch it where they've been watching it? Stupid! This is going to hurt the launch numbers on TV Land.
