RoryGilmore 06-21-2010, 11:55 PM Definitely Charlotte Rae tvshowsrock 06-22-2010, 04:08 AM Rae all the way old grouch 06-22-2010, 01:11 PM Charlotte was better, but I did like Cloris. *ShortCake* 07-11-2010, 05:35 PM Charlotte Rae :) mayberry 08-13-2010, 06:46 AM Quit watching by then. Nighthawk76 08-14-2010, 12:24 PM Mrs. Garrett (Charlotte Rae) was best but I do like Beverly Ann (Cloris Leachman) too. I like how Beverly Ann turned every story into a great epic. Rookielove 12-26-2011, 09:56 PM I loved both, but I think I enjoyed the ones with Cloris Leachman the most. OldBiddy 12-27-2011, 08:50 PM I like both. I think Cloris Leachman is hilariously funny on this show. Charlotte Rae makes a good motherly, wise-adult character - very lovable but not ROTFLMBO funny like Leachman. I'm glad that when Rae left they didn't try to replace her with an equivalent character. mandygirl78 12-27-2011, 09:48 PM I like both. I think Cloris Leachman is hilariously funny on this show. I'm with you on that one. Charlotte's humor was more dry than Cloris'. Afro75 12-29-2011, 09:23 PM Loved Cloris Leachman; she brought a different energy to the show, but my heart belongs to Charlotte.:) hch 01-02-2012, 12:35 PM Both of them were funny in their own way. Charlotte Rae was the heart and soul of FOL. She was irreplaceable. She was the mother figure, which the girls needed. Cloris had her good points too, People just gave her a bad rap. But she did the best she could filling some great big shoes. (BTW, Cloris and Charlotte Rae are old friends) Beverly Ann was more of a girl friend type for the girls (I mean, women) as they were becoming adults. ShamelessFanGirl 01-17-2012, 04:02 PM Charlotte Rae :D Ihavealife2uknow 02-01-2012, 05:41 AM I enjoyed them both for different reasons. Charlotte was more parental and guided the girls to make the right decisions and Cloris was more humorous. I think they were both there for the perfect amount of time and I can't pick one. I just couldn't picture Ms. Garrett there when Natalie lost her virginity or when Jo was going to marry that illegal immigrant, because when I think of her I imagine her telling the girls who are adults what to do and what not to do. Beverley Ann meddled a bit when it wasn't her place but for the most part I just feel like she fit well with the adult years because she's not as much of a motherly figure to the girls as Ms. Garrett. We got to see the girls make their own decisions for the most part without Ms. Garretts guidance and I enjoyed it. Ryan Chamberlain 02-01-2012, 07:57 AM Charlotte Rae. Love Mrs. G! :D ThomasE 02-01-2012, 09:41 PM For me, its Charlotte Rae. I do like Cloris Leachman also. She is a wonderful actress with many awards for her work. I like the earlier eps of the show so I'd have to go with Mrs. Garrett. Johnny be good! 02-15-2012, 11:02 AM Both of them were great. I liked Edna for the fact the she was the surrogate mother to the girls during their adolescant years. By the time Edna left and the girls were grown, they brought in Beverly Ann, who was like a much older sister.:) vasastan 03-01-2012, 06:55 PM Which did you like better? The episodes with Charlotte Rae or the latter episodes with Cloris Leachman? I have to go with Charlotte Rae. I prefer the early eps to later eps, but I did enjoy the FOL Seven Little Indians. I love a show that doesn't take itself too seriously. |
